(Pregame) Look Down, Look Down...

[Jyrvess Ertil]

Jyrvess eyes the uniform, "...Constable?" She notes the distinct lack of a weapon. Then relaxes a little, the KSF hadn't really been bothering her.

Then a girl thrust her hand palm up at her. "Ah...well I was just sort of looking around." Her eyes went from one to the other and back, "Oh...ah..." She held a long sigh and eye roll inside. Being protection racketed by a fourteen year old, life was on the way up. "Well I mean the Constable is here." Jyrvess looked to the man, "So I assume I am safe already?"

[Tosath Nazora]

"Not really a constable," he replies with a chuckle. "This insignia indicates I'm a medical officer. Can't really arrest anyone, and even if I could, I'd be hard pressed to force compliance of anyone that resisted. Not my strong suit."

[Roxi]

"Wait," she said, leaning in a little closer Varina, "You can make money that way? I didn't even know that was an option."

[Varina Ordo]

Varina nodded at Roxi. She couldn't say more right now... her idea had almost been busted but the uniform himself admitted he couldn't protect anyone. "You'd be right... if he was a constable and not a medical officer!"

She smirked again at her other, young... accomplice? "But the two of us are tough! Look at me, I have even have a knife!" The delinquent pulled up her shirt, showing off the sheathed knife.

[Tosath Nazora]

"Well, I can't protect anyone, true. But I can file a report, and I can get in the way of a knife that is targeting an innocent bystander. I wonder if your familiar with the laws around here and what happens if you harm a member of the KSF? Jail's no fun."

[Roxi]

"Oh!" she looked down at the knife...



Only to be dissappointed. At least, assuming it was just a normal knife. Or hell, even if it was something better, she still wanted to show off.



"That's not a knife. *This* is a knife," she said, and pulled out a big vibroknife.

[Tosath Nazora]

"Not really looking forward to getting stabbed by that. So I'd ask that you please show some restraint and choose a path of non-violence." Despite seeing the knives, he doesn't really shy from the thought of being stabbed. "I don't know how new you are to this city, but I assure you that's not really necessary. If you don't have a place to sleep or are having trouble making ends meet you really only need to visit Fa'ka Parka. We will assist you if we can. We like to care for our sisters and brothers in the community."

[Jyrvess Ertil]

"Ah...well that's a bit of a...." Jyrvess began upon seeing the stiletto. Then she stepped back as the real knife came out. "Gaaaah." Her hand briefly slipped into a coat pocket before relaxing and sliding out empty.

"How old are you two?! Who gave you that?!" She straightened her coat. "Ah..err thank you officer. Doctor. Doctor-Officer."

Finally she sighs then reaches into her pocket again. "...aright, well have you two eaten yet?"

[Varina Ordo]

"Hey! We're not supposed to outwardly threaten anybody," Varina blathered. She gave a sheepish smile to Jyrvess and then looked back to Roxi. "You gotta be more subtle... though that is a really cool knife." She looked it over for a moment before remembering there were more important matters to attend to.

The young Mando kid shrugged at the uniform. "Just trying to make a little bit more. But maybe my accomplice here's right; shouldn't be asking just anybody." She looked back to Jyrvess and tilted her head. "You don't look super poor though."

She held up her sandwich and took another hard bite into the state bread. "You're lucky I'm in a good mood. Other people around these parts are more forceful when they want to take money."

Saving face, definitely.

[Roxi]

"I wasn't threathening anyone!" She said, looking confused as she put the knife back. "And like," she looked up at Jyrvess, "I don't even *know* how old I am."

That sounded pretty cool.

[Tosath Nazora]

"That sandwich looks... not too appetizing. Where did you even get it? Did someone sell it to you like that?" He shakes his head.

"You... two..." he sighs, but smirks. "Do you two even have a place to sleep?"

[Jyrvess Ertil]

"Well looks can be deceiving young lady," Jyrvess frowns, "But you have appealed to my better nature." She eyes them both again. "I mean oh no you forced me to give up money through a threat of violence." Her voice sounds absolutely sincere the *fear* she radiates while calmly pull out some credits is practically overpowering. "Who knew such tough brigands dared walk the streets."

[Varina Ordo]

Varina raised an eyebrow at Roxi. How could someone not know their own age? "Well I ain't not kid, I'm sixteen," she announced. She certainly wasn't fourteen!

She looked at her sandwich and then back to Tosath. "I made it myself! Used up the last bit of the loaf of bread I had."

The Mando kid eyed the money. "Alright, you're on my good side. For now." Still tough and don't you forget it! She held out her hand, not intending on sharing any with Roxi unless called out on it.

[Roxi]

They were being given money? Just like that? After all that not-threathening? Roxi looked surprised; then noticed Varina's hand; immediately holding out one of her own. She had enough experience to know not to trust some random kid to share, after all.

[Jyrvess Ertil]

Jyvress gives them 7 credits apiece. And counts her current stash quickly then sighs, adding a mental note to go job hunting tomorrow. Then looked back at the two and Tosath. "Well...I suppose now that the...perfunctory robbery is over....I am Jyvress, the now slighted by the Kamda Tourism Board." She adds the last bit with a wry smile.

[Varina Ordo]

Drat. Her accomplice had taken some money after all. Still, Varina pocketed the money gladly. Seven credits was more than a quarter of the way there to a stimpack!

"What's perfunctory mean?" Varina asked honestly. She then shrugged because it didn't mean that much to her. "Name's Varina Ordo. Good to know me too, because you are actually under my protection for the time being. If somebody threatens you, I'll kick their butt!"

[Tosath Nazora]

Tosath shakes his head. "You two really need to find more productive work. The way you're doing things is going to get you in real trouble some day."

[Jyrvess Ertil]

"Basically it means...farce...no....something done with little effort." Jyvress raises an eyebrow. "And how long does this protection extend?" Not that she had any intention of unleashing a teenager with a switchblade and bad attitude on anyone.

"Ah...productive work would be good."

[Roxi]

"And I'm Roxi!" She said with an awfully chipper voice for a mugger. She hadn't expected things to work out the way they had, but this was definitely turning out to be one of her better social experiences on Kamda so far.

She looked at the doctor then; as he spoke of trouble. "Eh? I mean, I've been in plenty of trouble before!"

She really had.

[Tosath Nazora]

"I've been in trouble too. I know what it's like. But I've found that work that keeps me out of trouble is far more rewarding. A credit earned at someone else's expense always leaves the question on whether they'll come back for it. You can get away with it and make a profit. Hell, if you're good enough you can get away with it your whole life. But when you're constantly looking over your shoulder that leaves less time to look to your future, building a life you can enjoy."
