New Arrival [Pre-game, Morning]

[Raven Cadera]

She pondered what Jyrvess considered to be competition for the Imps. Jedi were gone, and they were honorable adversaries. The Mandalorians were under the Empire's boots.

"Dunno, to be honest. Depends on what's here. But it would be nice to get the chance to work up some more creds while I'm here. Contrary to what some holovids say, drifting ain't cheap living."

[Jyrvess Ertil]

She laughed at that, "Oh...trust me I know."

"And barely an honest captain these days who will charge a fair rate. Half of them will charge your triple, a quarter will take your money and sell you, and the last quarter might show some pity."

[Raven Cadera]

Raven snorted a laugh of agreement. "Friend, that's pretty spot on. Once you reach a certain age too, the pity ones too decrease... and well, still got lots of years left to go before you start getting the old age-pity."

[Jyrvess Ertil]

"And of course when you get on a ship, they always put you in the worst spot. Nothing like sleeping between two crates with live and loud critters in them."

She continued, "Half a cargo bay from the nearest restroom if you can call those converted closets with a hole drilled in the middle a restroom."

[Raven Cadera]

"Sounds rough," she chuckled as a smile formed for a moment. "It can always be worse. Public transports. Cheapest option... you got that drilled hole, but it's the only one for multiple passangers."

Raven shook her head. "Sometimes I wonder if I should save up for my own ship, but kriff, I ain't a pilot."

[Jyrvess Ertil]

"Eh just shifts the shakedown I think, I've heard enough arguments between captains and customs as I was hustled off the ship to know were most of my fare goes."

She shrugs, "Still would be liberating to just decide 'nah I don't want to go that way after all' and then maybe change your mind again."

[Raven Cadera]

"Fair enough," she agreed, "that kind of talk isn't my strong suit, so probably best not to... get into that."

Raven much more preferred to bully her way through such opposition, if needed.

"But yeah... the freedom would be nice. A gal can dream though. Just buying a ship's expensive enough, right, and then you gotta pay for upkeep." Like a very very expensive armor. Or sword.

[Jyrvess Ertil]

"I suppose you could hire someone to talk to customs for you." She smirks, "And probably someone to fly it...navigate. Or fix it for that matter."

[Raven Cadera]

"Sounds like a lot of people to hire just for the freedom to go where I want..." Raven thoughtfully bit down on her lower lip as she thought about what that would even cost.

She didn't really have a good head for numbers.

"You sound like you know this kind of stuff."

[Jyrvess Ertil]

"I have read a lot of data slats." Jyvress pats her datapad, "I used to be a Librarian." Of sorts she added mentally. "But that has been several years ago. Had other jobs sense then and of course we began travelling."

"Also I have been watching as a rode ships. It's a way for me to get passed the boredom of being really just another piece of cargo." She taps her forehead, "Add in a pretty good memory...of course its all just 'scholars experience', read but not lived. Seen but not done. You know."

[Solork Tan]

The spaceport is a common enough site to see Solork. He unfortunately stands out, decked in armor and a mask to conceal his features.

Sadly, that's going to scare people less than my actual face

In spite of that, it wasn't a bad spot to get quick work for people in a pinch, especially when he would barter for parts. It seems there was a new arrival. Something felt... different somehow

"Scholar's experience, huh. Not met many of those in my life before, but it's a big galaxy, so probably only a matter of time. What brings a scholar to Kamda though?" she inquired with some curiosity. "Or this the only place you found a ticket to from a worse dustball?"

[Jyrvess Ertil]

"Well I suppose one could call it field work...of a sorts." Jyvress chuckled nervously, her attention shifted to the armored man not far from their path and eyes went wide a second. Her pace also slowed a little, still keeping up with Raven but now kind of behind and beside. "As for worst, well yes I have seen worst on Rim but better as well. More its just different."

Raven on the other hand had calmly noticed the presence of an armored person, and continued walking with a cool head on her shoulders. Panicking would only draw attention, she knew, so she kept her gaze ahead.

"Don't let them see you sweat, scholar," she said in a more quiet voice before continuing more normally with their conversation. "Care to name the worst place you've seen?"

[Jyrvess Ertil]

Jyvress made a look of indigence at the remark...and irritation that her action had been so obvious, "Just a bit jumpy, still not so used to seeing armored individuals." Came the rather lame thanks.

"Worst I have seen? Hard to say. I was on Tatooine for roughly a day and it was a wretched hive of scum and villany." Her nostrils flared briefly at the memories of bantha poodoo. She had been surprised to find a hole terrible enough that its relative lack of Imperial presence wasn't enough to keep her there. "Sand, angry and violent locals, and banthas." She rubbed her chin, "What information there was on the actual natives of the planet, the Tusken, was intriguing though....but most anthropological expeditions ended...unsatisfactorily for the researchers."

[Solork Tan]

The other two see him and look away. Solork blanches, feeling a familiar sinking in his gut. He had seen looks like that before and it was bad for business. Still, a lead was a lead, and simply walking by would not cover food and repair parts.

"Greetings." The speaker on the voicebox crackles. "Forgive the interruption. I don't suppose you newcomers need a spare hand to fix your ships." Solork holds up a tool box. "My rates are reasonable. I take food and parts."

There seemed like equal chance the pair would run or laugh.

[Jyrvess Ertil]

Jyvress went white briefly, "Uhh...." She recovered quickly enough, "I...don't own a ship." Her eyes dart about for a moment, confused about the question. And perhaps a bit worried that if the armored man hadn't been after her he still might bring unwanted attention her way. "Thank you for the offer." Her eyes settle on his helmet and she manages a nervous smile.

[Raven Cadera]

Haar'chak, Raven thought as it seemed the armored person was more than just a curious on-looker. She stopped in her tracks calmly, but so that she would be closer to the armored stranger than the scholarly woman.

"Sorry to say, but I've no ship of my own either, stranger."

And then a nagging feeling that she didn't actually know either of them, and this could be a trap.

[Solork Tan]

Ah yes. The was the look. Fear. Fear of him. At least from one, the other reminding him a bit too much of a past life.

Another hitter? Bounty Hunter

There was something off, something that could not be placed, but the issue would be over soon. Solork offers a bow. "Please forgive the interruption. Thank you for your time. If you ever are in need of assistance, please keep Solork Tan in mind."

The Gank turns to go.

[Jyrvess Ertil]

"Ah...if you are looking for a job. There are a few junk shops in town." She remarks as the Gank leaves, it wasn't like someone after her bounty needed to play it safe. Also there was the other woman here, who while unarmored seemed accustomed to violence. "If you have a map I could show you them....though I can't vouch for any of them."
