Kicking around (Day 6 Early Afternoon)

There hadn't been much in the way of work today, and with his younger siblings at least attempting to make something of themselves. Or at least that was the idea Vince tried to sell them on; the young man found his afternoon open.

So with little else to do he hit the Alley, he didn't have much in the way of money but just looking was often entertainment enough.

A tall woman adjusted a bag on her shoulder as she walked alongside the street. Her chin-length black hair seemed pretty messy as if she'd been wearing a helmet or something. And judging from the way she moved, she was probably wearing armor underneath her cloak. And weapons.

Still, she looked much to... young and rag-tag to be an Imperial soldier.

But obviously well off enough to afford armour, which was something Vince couldn't say for himself. In fact he seemed unarmed except for the knife he carried with him.

Still armor and weapons often meant someone from off world, and those types at least sometimes had work. "Looking for anything in particular, Miss?" He asked as the crowds brought them a bit closer together.

"... Miss...?" she looked around with confusion for a moment, then realised she was the one being adressed.

"Ah. Hm. I suppose I am. Just looking for places to buy parts." Raven still wasn't that familiar with Kamda or Kamda City to know where she was supposed to go to buy things. "Parts for armor, that is."

Parts for armor? Well, that likely was something people bought armor probably needed go be replaced every now and then.

"I think I know a thing or two." He offered after a moment. "You looking for things that are brand new?" If she really had money she likely would be.

She thought about it for a moment. Spares and junk she had had to make do with for a long time, but this time she had a proper new armor, and she didn't want junk for her real armor.

"Yeah." She nodded. Other normal people would probably be worried about mugging or being robbed, but Raven wasn't really someone worried about that. "I've only been on this planet a couple of weeks... still getting used to where everything is."

"Figured that was the case." Vince replied with a casual shrug. "You stick out a bit in a crowd, hope you don't mind me saying so."

"I know a place or two though." He dipped his head towards the north. "Not to far from here either."

"I don't mind," she seemed in fact quite unbothered by it. Or maybe even confident in the fact that she stood out. "I'm used to standing out more."

"Oh." Being already tall, Raven didn't have a hard time looking over some heads to look in the northern direction Vince indicated. "Just... straight ahead, or...?"

The girl was a little weird, check. It likely had something to do with wearing helmets for long periods of time... "See that side street about 300 meters from here? It's down there. Stuff there can be a touch on the expensive side, but they carry a wide selection."

"It's run by a Bothan couple, nice folk but firm negotiators." It was hard to get them to budge on their prices, but he had heard some sayings about qaulity and money in the past. Not that he could recall them at the moment.

"Negotiators? Ah... hmmm... am I expected to haggle?" she knew from experience that it was certainly an expected custom on some planets, but she had so far not engaged in that here.

"Most merchants like to haggle every now and then, if you're no good at it like me though it's best to just skip it. They aren't going to take offense or anything if you don't." Vince explained as he led the way.

"On, and I'm Vincenzo by the way. Most call me Vicne for short though."

Since he was already leading the way, Raven easily followed. Never once worrying that she was going to get mugged or something like that.

"Vince, huh? I'm Raven. And... well, that's what people call me. Someone called me Ray-Ray once, but uh, not really a nickname as such."

"Ray-Ray?" He raised an eyebrow at the almost nickname. "That's kinda cute honestly." Vince shook his head.

"I think I'll stick to Raven though. Not sure if you actually want to make the other a nickname."

"I suppose it is," she chuckled a little awkwardly. "I've just never been one for... 'cute'."

It was a weird nickname to her. "You a local here? You seem to know your way around this place pretty well."

"It's not for everyone." He offered, playfully serious. "I mean i can't say I'd like being cute either, not when there are other words around that mean almost the same thing, but are less.. Cute? If that makes any sense."

"But yeah." Vince replied as the rounded the bend in the road. "This is my hometown, likely not much to someone who travels the stars, but uts not too bad."

"I'm not sure I follow you. Uh, about the words, that is." Because she was following him quite easily otherwise.

"Eh, Kamda's a nice enough place. Even got some nice nature not far from the city, which isn't all that common a lot of places when you get closer to the Core, or Hutt space."

That caused him to blink. "You know like handsome, or sexy, or hot. Cute just feels like something you would call someone's kid sister or something." Vince explained, angling the pair across the street towards the shop in question. "I guess with all the armor and stuff you might prefer being told you look badass or something though."

"Yeah?" He nodded thoughtfully at that. "I guess some of the places i see in vids and the like are pretty nasty. Was never sure if those were right or anything. You know what they say about vids after all."

"Oh... well, yeah, I much rather prefer being complimented for stuff like that than... well, being told I'm cute." Which she decidedly think she wasn't. "Complimenting on looks isn't too much my thing."

Complimenting someone's personality and skill was much better in her opinion.

"Yeah plenty of nasty places in the galaxy. And sometimes it's good when it isn't the hot spot of activity either. Though that gets harder all the time, with them Imps going about and bossing people around."

She was a decidedly weird girl, but then Vince had already figured that out. Sfill that wasn't really a bad thing, right? "Yeah, they do seem to want to stick their noses into every little thing." Kinda like the police but worse. "I try to steer clear of them when I can, though."

Arriving at the shop he gestured towards the door with a bit of a flourish. "Well here we are, Oswald's Arms and Armour."

"Good. Best not to get involved with them, kid." They were probably the same age, or close enough.

"Oh, thanks. So, uh, I owe you anything for this?"
