Breakfast at Teef's [LM5]

[Fuff]

The best bantha burger joint this side of the alley was an ideal place to have a brunch and talk. Fuff ordered supersized sets for everyone he expected and waited, drinking meiloorun shake from a non-recyclable cup through a recyclable straw.

[Manny Donos]

Wearing his usual clothing, but with the addition of some dark sunglasses, Manny sat down at the table.

"M'rn'ng." He managed, possibly nodding to Fuff before hunching in his seat, to possibly stare at the food in front of him. With the sunglasses, it was hard to say if the stare was uncomprehending, but that was a pretty good guess.

[Fuff]

"There's kaf to defeat the mblergh or whatever you've just said, Luke." The straw popped off Fuff's mouth for just enough time to say it and make a gesture.

[Jyrvess Ertil]

It wasn't long before the Librarian arrived. She was dressed plainly, really if the other two didn't know her already she would have been just another member of the faceless mass in alley. Jyrvess took a set opposite the other two, "Good morning everyone. I see one of us is not a morning person."

[Manny Donos]

Manny looked at the kaf. It was possible his expression brightened just a little. Numb fingers managed to find the mug, bringing it to his lips. He drank deeply.

That done, he managed to raise his face to smile at his companions. A little. His lips moved, anyway. "G'morning." He said, managing a whole word this time.

Grunting he rubbed a hand over his face. "This is what I get for standing next to the drinks table for so long. They didn't taste strong."

[Fuff]

"I am under no illusion that I can drink, so I usually kill one socially and that's it." Fuff smirked. "And how are you today, Ms BB? All is well?"

[Jyrvess Ertil]

"Self-awareness helps. Sip to maintain social etiquette but try to keep the same drink all night." Jyrvess shrugged, "Mmm, all is normal I suppose."

She crossed her arms and bobbed her head in thought, "And...I suppose at this point we know each other well enough. Jyrvess. Jyrvess Ertil."

[Fuff]

Fuff nodded. "I am Fuff. It's a simple name, good for a Farghul. Though I'd still err on the side of caution how we speak to each other in the presence of untested company. I get you got the memo from Jarvis about the meeting tonight. Ahead of it, I wanted to share my humble findings on our boss so that we're more aware what we're walking into. Like you said, Jyrvess, a beautiful name by the way, awareness in key." He slurped the shake to the point when it would start making noises and put it away, crossing paws (well, arms, but for the mental picture it works better).

[Manny Donos]

Manny grinned, reaching up to take off his sunglasses; actually, his eyes were only a little bloodshot. He nodded to each of them, one after the other. "Manny Donos." He said.

He looked back and forth. "This is so great! We're a real crew now! Alright!" He grinned at them.

[Munchfronta]

Munch enters wearing a cowboy hat and a monocle and grunts his thanks as he starts devouring the burger, Chadra-fan teeth seem tailor made for such an activity.
"Still Munch, still Munching."

[Jyrvess Ertil]

Jyrvess rubs her head at Manny's enthusiasm, "Are you sure everybody heard you? I think there are a few two blocks down that may not have."

Her eyes shift to the Farghul, "Oh? What sort of information on our employer?"

[Fuff]

Fuff smirked at Manny's enthusiasm. "I also like the real thing, Manny. Like this burger, it's the real thing." The cat encouraged him to try, then looked back at the only lady in the pack.

He then lowered the tone. "Nothing outright damning, but worth consideration. First, he gets indebted easily, and for half his life he owed the Hutts. Now technically on retirement, he still burns through creds like in the old days and so is prone to take bigger gambles and step on others' toes. I guess reckless wouldn't be too far off the mark in how he rolls. Whatever is the big thing he's promising, I think it carries many unknown risks." Fuff leaned back. "So that's my homework, crew."

[Manny Donos]

"Huh." Manny said, frowning thoughtfully. "So... maybe if he's got something for us, he's not gonna be too careful about it. So maybe if he tells us something, we've gotta check it out for ourselves."

His frown deepened. "But he doesn't still owe the Hutts, right? Because that might make a problem with Vex." His frown was still there as he chomped into a burger, chewing fiercely.

[Jyrvess Ertil]

"The Hutts could be a problem for everyone." Jyrvess takes a small bit of her hamburger, "Thank you Fuff, it's quite good." She speaks softly, keeping her voice low enough to not travel beyond the table.

"I've had some experience digging up information," Though less so as of late.... "Well sifting through it really. And even had a hand in helping plan a few...fact finding expeditions you might say. Proper planning pays off, as long as he gives us time to prepare." She shrugs.

[Manny Donos]

Manny grunted as he tore into the burger again. For a time, there was only chewing.

He swallowed. "I hear he doesn't have another crew going right now. So if we want it, we're in. Seems like we could be in a pretty good position, as long as we play our cards right. And carefully."

[Fuff]

"You're right, Manny." Fuff nodded, listening and chewing the burger and chips himself. He enjoyed seeing Munch eating for some atavistic reason.

"I also think high stakes and risks is not a reason to bail on the oppurrtunity. Also because I feel it can sprout into many other oppurrtunities. I bet for all of us is not just about sport and profit for profit's sake, but some bet on surviving... that roller that keeps rolling. And in my experience there are no things that solve some problems without creating others anyway."

He gave Jyrvess the time to swallow before speaking again. "Once the thing is rolled out tonight, I'd like to help with the fact-checking. I may help you find the data, or the access to it, so that you can do whatever your elegant mind is capable of."

[Jyrvess Ertil]

Jyrvess nodded to Manny's comment, then turned back to Fuff, "Alright, as it happens I have had some practice on my computer and codebreaking skills lately."

She rubbed her check, "Depending on the job, we might also be able to access some public sources for our planning."

[Manny Donos]

"Yeah." Manny nodded to Fuff. "Like when Elan stole my sabaac deck, and so I set his speeder on fire. Solved one problem, created another." He nodded again, signalling his perfect understanding.

He glanced around. "Hey, you know that Mirialan that we met on our first job? He wants to meet me later today about this stuff, too. Maybe I can find something out there?"

[Fuff]

"Whatever you think can give answers." Fuff agreed with Jyrvess with a nod, then smirked at Manny's comment. "Precisely. As for the Mirialan guy, I don't honestly know what to think of him. Maybe you can find out a bit, Manny, without showing too much of our hand."

[Jyrvess Ertil]

"Remember he could be fishing for information and try to slide in like with the crate." Jyrvess took another bite of burger and chewed quietly, swallowing before speaking again, "Be careful."
