Pokosta Evening Gala [Day 4, Late Evening, Roleplay]

[Lassa Tenro]

“Sounds complicated.” She replied with another sip of her drink.

“Why ever would someone choose such a... burdensome path? Life is so much easier if one merely dedicates themselves to a productive line of modest employment.”

[Alder Divo]

"I would say the same. Some people just cannot seem to manage. They take exception to the benefit their efforts put toward the Empire, perhaps. That or they are not willing to make the sacrifices asked of them on behalf of the betterment of the Empire. Regardless, it is a shameful thing, is it not?"

[Lassa Tenro]

“Most certainly.” She said with a nod and a look of mild disinterest; like one who is listening to shop-talk at a gala politely.

[Alder Divo]

"Well," he said, looking at her for a moment. Grabbing himself a drink from a passing waiter. "Once again, I must leave you to my duties. Till we meet again, Lassa Tenro," he parted and made his way off into the party at large.

[Solork Tan]

Solork notices a familiar face and a mop of blonde hair.

Well, at least some familiarity.

"Hello there Roxi. Enjoying the advantage of our mutual business acquaintance I take it?" He scans the room, actually recognizing a few people

[Lassa Tenro]

"Well," he said, looking at her for a moment. Grabbing himself a drink from a passing waiter. "Once again, I must leave you to my duties. Till we meet again, Lassa Tenro," he parted and made his way off into the party at large.

“I am always at your service Agent Divo.” She gave a bit of a curtsy. “Enjoy the rest of your evening.”

[Roxi]

Solork notices a familiar face and a mop of blonde hair.

Well, at least some familiarity.

"Hello there Roxi. Enjoying the advantage of our mutual business acquaintance I take it?" He scans the room, actually recognizing a few people

Roxi, having been left to her own devices by Grand, had gone back to her face-stuffing task; although for some reason they seemed to be running low on space-lobster. Then, mid-chew, Solork came up to her.

"Oh, hey," she said, "Good lobster huh?"

[Solork Tan]

"The food is indeed better than what I'm used to. I'm going to need to do extra work to burn off the calories"

How Solork would eat with a mask still on is a mystery.

"What have you been up to?"

[Manny Donos]

Jyrvess rolled her eyes and let exasperation show on her face. "Lucky for you Kamda is so far from the Core. You'd have been laughed out of a formal party on Coruscant or Corellia."

"But then as you say...some times a lie is so audacious it's easier just to believe it then believe the person making it is that dumb."

"Or Corseccia." Manny nodded knowingly. Corseccia was not, of course, a real place.

"Yeah..." Manny said, narrowing his eyes and smiling. "Well, it might be. Or maybe they're just humoring the person, huh?" He took a sip of his drink, glancing briefly away.

Taking a breath, he looked back. "Does that mean you've been to Coruscant and Corellia?"

[Raven Cadera]

Lysa waved a hand "Sorry I said too much, thats one of those questions you're supposed to give superficial answers to." She was barely drinking the drink she had "besides alcohol isn't really what I look for to feel better." She says with a thin chuckle.

"What have you been up to since that job? Anything exciting?" She asked with a raised eyebrow trying to get the conversation off her.

"The usual. Hunting, fighting, training," Raven shrugged. It hadn't been an exhilirating time since then, but it had been busy enough. Oh hey, there's food here!

"And you? You seem like the type to create your own excitement."

[Jyrvess Ertil]

"Or Corseccia." Manny nodded knowingly. Corseccia was not, of course, a real place.

"Yeah..." Manny said, narrowing his eyes and smiling. "Well, it might be. Or maybe they're just humoring the person, huh?" He took a sip of his drink, glancing briefly away.

Taking a breath, he looked back. "Does that mean you've been to Coruscant and Corellia?"

"My accent didn't give it away?" Jyrvess smirks, "You need to work on your impersonations, Manny." Her smile softens, "Both really. Born on one and lived a lot of my life on the other."

"So then...I assume you are a proper native of the Outer Rim? Perhaps you should consult me before your next impression of a Core dweller."

[Manny Donos]

"Born here, haven't left." Manny said, smiling just a little. "Go Kamda City Manka cats." He sighed. "I've always wanted to go somewhere else, visit one of the Cor worlds, but I just haven't had the chance."

He smiled a little more, crossing his arms. "Maybe I should, huh? Okay. You wanna give me some of the basics? Or should I just try to sound like you?"

[Jyrvess Ertil]

"Born here, haven't left." Manny said, smiling just a little. "Go Kamda City Manka cats." He sighed. "I've always wanted to go somewhere else, visit one of the Cor worlds, but I just haven't had the chance."

He smiled a little more, crossing his arms. "Maybe I should, huh? Okay. You wanna give me some of the basics? Or should I just try to sound like you?"

"Corellian, not appropriate for Alderaan." She shakes her head, "Corellia is probably the most...working class of Core worlds, my accent is a bit more upper crust because..." Jyrvess shakes her hand, "Ahh just call it a product of my education and upbringing."

"If you want to visit the Core Worlds, well it depends on what you want out of the visit."

[Manny Donos]

"Corellian, not appropriate for Alderaan." She shakes her head, "Corellia is probably the most...working class of Core worlds, my accent is a bit more upper crust because..." Jyrvess shakes her hand, "Ahh just call it a product of my education and upbringing."

"If you want to visit the Core Worlds, well it depends on what you want out of the visit."

"A product of your education and upbringing. Education and upbringing." Manny echoed; his tones shifting. "I must say, I do find you rather mysterious, Ms BB. Perhaps you have some other name I should be permitted to call you?"

He grinned, then shrugged. "I dunno, really." His voice back to normal. "See the sights... see how the other side lives. I mean, you hear so much about the Cor worlds, and Alderaan, and some of the other fancy places. I guess maybe I don't just want to visit there, I want to retire there. Once I've made my big score." He chuckled. "Still waiting on that one."

[Jyrvess Ertil]

"A product of your education and upbringing. Education and upbringing." Manny echoed; his tones shifting. "I must say, I do find you rather mysterious, Ms BB. Perhaps you have some other name I should be permitted to call you?"

He grinned, then shrugged. "I dunno, really." His voice back to normal. "See the sights... see how the other side lives. I mean, you hear so much about the Cor worlds, and Alderaan, and some of the other fancy places. I guess maybe I don't just want to visit there, I want to retire there. Once I've made my big score." He chuckled. "Still waiting on that one."

"I always find Chandrila to be a pleasant world, but it's people love nothing more then a good debate. It's usually good natured but well galactic politics have gotten a far bet more....divisive." Jyrvess shrugs, "Mrs. BB will do in here, but we seem likely to keep running to each...so maybe you will learn sooner then later."

He accepted that with a smile and a slow nod.

"Yeah..." Manny said, rubbing at his head. "Divisive, that sounds about right. Seems like parts of that, uh, divisiveness are showing up even here." He glanced around, eyes narrowed.

"So... how do you think it's all gonna shake out?" He asked.

[Jyrvess Ertil]

He accepted that with a smile and a slow nod.

"Yeah..." Manny said, rubbing at his head. "Divisive, that sounds about right. Seems like parts of that, uh, divisiveness are showing up even here." He glanced around, eyes narrowed.

"So... how do you think it's all gonna shake out?" He asked.

"What do you mean how it's going to shake out?" Jyrvess narrowed her own eyes, "Like most of these sort of galas. Business deals will be struck, those in power will rub elbows and plot to stay in power. The Imperials will remind everyone they are in charge. A few people will probably make the wrong people made and get thrown out. Maybe some of the powerful will use the chance to reopen some old grudges."

"Or do you mean...more generally?"

[Solork Tan]

"Fights? You're getting paid for fights?" Solork can't help but be interested. "Wait, do you mean that people have been paying you introduce Mr. Hydrospanner to non-paying customers' kneecaps, or running off bandits, or..."

[Manny Donos]

"What do you mean how it's going to shake out?" Jyrvess narrowed her own eyes, "Like most of these sort of galas. Business deals will be struck, those in power will rub elbows and plot to stay in power. The Imperials will remind everyone they are in charge. A few people will probably make the wrong people made and get thrown out. Maybe some of the powerful will use the chance to reopen some old grudges."

"Or do you mean...more generally?"

"I mean more generally." Manny said, his expression turning serious. "I'm pretty focused on Kamda, but even I can see that there's big things going on." He spread his hands. "You've been a lot of places, and I think you're the second smartest person I know, so I figured maybe you'd have some idea."
