Always Two There Were, Magician and Apprentice [D3EE]

[Manny Donos]

Another day, another show. But this one was different!

"Thank you, thank you!" Manny said, smiling out at the audience. "It's good to be here again today. I hope everyone's having a great evening, and having some good food and drinks." He looked a bit better than he had earlier that day; his hair was finally under control, and he'd sorted out most of the pockets of his vest. His shiny pants were a bit wrinkled, though.

He half-turned, gesturing. "I've got a special treat for you guys tonight. Making her first time magic debut, my lovely and talented assistant, Leah! Everyone give her a big hand!" He gave her an encouraging grin, and some applause of his own.

[Leah kuso]

Leah was a vision of professionalism, giving the audience a smile and a wave as she walked across. She was wearing her gold sparkly (and quite small) top with a skirt that almost reached her knees, matching perfectly. She bowed as she reached the middle of the stage.

"Hi guys! Hope you're enjoying the show" she winked "I'm excited to be here for you. Are you ready for something new?"

[Lysa]

Lysa had heard there was going to be another show so she headed down to the venue and took a seat at a booth. She was kitted out for a fight since she had a job later blaster, launcher, knife, black shirt under her leather jacket backpack with her full of other goodies. Her hair was pulled back and braided to keep it in place.

When she saw Leah and Manny on the stage she gave an enthusiastic wave and a whistle of encouragement.

[Manny Donos]

Manny grinned, spotting the familiar face in the audience. Wait, are those a bunch of weapons? Eh, that seemed like her business.

"Now, Leah's new to magic, but she's got a gift. When we concentrate, we can form a bond that lets her read my mind. And we're going to show all of you that gift tonight."

He looked out into the audience. "I need a volunteer." He looked expectantly at Lysa.

[Lysa]

she quickly unholstered her weapons and put them into her bag slinging it over her shoulder she bounced up "oooo magic man pick me! pick me!" she cried out jumping up and down in the relatively somber crowd. Then again relative to Lysa there most parties would rate as somber affairs.

[Leah kuso]

Leah managed not to laugh as Lysa jumped around like an excitable child. It was really cute.

"I don't know Manny, who do you think?" Leah said, looking thoughtfully among the crowd.

[Manny Donos]

"Hmmmm..." Manny rubbed his chin in exaggerated thoughtfulness, smirking. "How about... that one." He pointed at Lysa. "Come on up, miss!"

In the meantime, he turned to Leah. "Now, my assistant and I will form the mind bond." He bent his head a little towards her, giving her easier forehead access.

[Leah kuso]

"Don't try this at home kids" Leah said with a smile to the audience before lowering her head, her lekku touching either side of Mannys forehead and she took a few moments before sighing.

"Clear your mind Manny, stop thinking about the lovely woman who is coming to help with the next act."

[Manny Donos]

Manny couldn't help but chuckle at that.

"See, folks? I told you she's good!" He grinned at Leah, even as her lekku rested on his forehead.

[Lysa]

Lysa jumped a little and pumped her fist in the air when Manny chose her "Yes!" And she excitedly ran up to the stage he back slung over her shoulder she set it on the stage away from the act a bit.

"So gonna saw me in half this time like you promised? Or am I just playing with your deck a little more tonight?" She asked with an eyebrow raised.

[Manny Donos]

"Aha..." Manny looked back and forth between Leah and Lysa. One with white skin, the other blue. "No, no sawing tonight. Time for me to pull out my deck..." With a flourish, Manny produced... an egg.

Blandly, he passed it to Leah. "My dear, hold this for me, and turn around. One sec..." A bit of fishing, and he pulled out his trusty sabaac deck, with all the special cards removed. "Now, Lysa, I want you to pick a card. And show me. And show the rest of the audience. But whatever you do, don't show Leah!"

[Leah kuso]

Leah took the egg, saying "right, I'll get cracking on this!" before turning away and taking a few steps away from Manny and Lysa.

Grinning, Manny turned to Lysa, offering his deck to her. Indeed, Leah was doing an impressive job as an assistant. He hoped she'd stick around.

[Lysa]

Lysa nodded enthusiastically "I know the drill Manny!" she says before grabbing a card and looking at it before revealing a 12 of staves

[Manny Donos]

"Okay!" Manny said. "Hold onto that." He fanned the rest of the cards out between his hands. "Now, as you can see, this is a regular deck, nothing fishy about it." His fingers moved quickly as he shifted through the cards, making it easy for her to pick out individual suits and numbers.

He turned to Leah. "Now my dear. Our wonderful volunteer has just picked a card out from this deck." He held it up, displaying it to Leah. "I saw the card that she picked. Can you read my mind, and see it, too?"

To add a bit of drama, Manny raised an eyebrow, placing a hand on his temple.

[Leah kuso]

Leah put a finger to her head at the same time, taking a few moments before she spun around on the spot and held out the egg. There was a small crack along it.

"By gosh I've cracked it! It's floating at the front of your brain" she tossed the egg to Manny "the twelve of staves!"

[Manny Donos]

Manny caught the egg, spun, and presented it to Lysa... but what he handed her was a flower, instead.

"Leah read my mind, and saw the twelve of staves. Is she right?" Manny smiled confidently, doing his best to ignore the sensation of yolk running down the inside of his arm. Clearly he needed to practice that bit a little more...

[Lysa]

Lysa clapped her hands rapidly and jumped a little "Thats right! ohmygosh how did you do that? Leah you didn't tell me you were magic too!" she took the flower from Manny with a smile and leaned forward kissing him on the cheek lightly "Magic and flowers!?" you're a thoughtful man Manny" she said giggling.

[Leah kuso]

"You don't want to hear his thoughts right now miss. He's put magic and flowers together and made..." Leah pretended to gasp and cover her mouth.

[Lysa]

Lysa grinned and playfully punched Manny in the shoulder, playfully but with the enthusiasm she brought to everything "bad Manny, it takes more than flowers to get anything magic out of me." she said with a grin and wink to Leah.
