Nothin' Up My Sleeve [Pregame]

[Manny Donos]

Dross made his way to the two giving his best customer service.

"What do you want?"

"Heyyyyy..." Manny gave the surly server a wave. "How's it going tonight? You like the show? A KCA for me, and whatever Lysa here wants." KCA, of course, referred to Kamda City Ale, one of the most popular local brews.

She returned his fist bump but made an explosion sound and mimed an explosion with her fist as she pulled back "Yep! Got left on a doorstep in the slums taken to the orphanage and well you know how the rest goes."

Manny grinned as Lysa supplied the explosion. "Yeah, I know how that one goes. Guess we all knew some variation on it." His smile turned a bit more thoughtful. "We should compare notes sometime. I moved around a lot before I got out of the system. Maybe we were at the same place sometime?"

"The customers enjoyed it." Well, if he was honest, he thought it was a good show. If only it didn't distract the customers from tipping him. He brings out KCA for him. "On the house." He thought performers get free drinks. That's how it goes, right? He turns his attention to Lysa. "And the lady?"

[Lysa]

Manny grinned as Lysa supplied the explosion. "Yeah, I know how that one goes. Guess we all knew some variation on it." His smile turned a bit more thoughtful. "We should compare notes sometime. I moved around a lot before I got out of the system. Maybe we were at the same place sometime?"

Lysa nodded energetically "Yeah! that seems like a great idea, I was at the same place the whole time. Gilea's place was really just a woman doing her best to watch almost twenty of us crazy kids."

[Manny Donos]

Manny smiled at him. "Hey, thanks bud! Glad you liked it!" It seemed like he missed the distinction. "And why don't you get the lady one of these, too."

Lysa nodded energetically "Yeah! that seems like a great idea, I was at the same place the whole time. Gilea's place was really just a woman doing her best to watch almost twenty of us crazy kids."

"Yeah?" Manny blinked surprised. "I spent a few weeks at Gilea's place, about ten years ago I think it was? I was at Peaceful Heart at the time, but it was being fumigated. Roaches, like, this big." He held his hands about a foot apart.

He narrowed his eyes, studying her features carefully. "Lysa... you know, you do look kinda familiar..." A distant memory tugged at his memory...

Dross nods and gets a beer for Lysa. "Here you go... lady."

Still no tips.

[Lysa]

"Yeah?" Manny blinked surprised. "I spent a few weeks at Gilea's place, about ten years ago I think it was? I was at Peaceful Heart at the time, but it was being fumigated. Roaches, like, this big." He held his hands about a foot apart.

He narrowed his eyes, studying her features carefully. "Lysa... you know, you do look kinda familiar..." A distant memory tugged at his memory...

Lysa's eyebrows shot up and her eyes widened "Oh! Oh! Oh! you were the nice weird boy who wasn't good at magic!" she exclaimed a little louder than what would be considered an inside voice "Yeah you were practicing tricks and stuff but man well you've definitely gotten a lot better, better looking now too." she said with a wink.

Dross nods and gets a beer for Lysa. "Here you go... lady."

Still no tips.

"Thanks doll." she said to the bartender and slid 5 credits back to him as she took the beer and a long draw from it.

[Manny Donos]

Well, that set Manny back a bit. "The... what?" He blinked. But with it was enough to trigger the memory. "Ohhhhhhhhhhhhh..." He said, rocking back on his stool. "Yeah, I remember you! Wow, you've really, uh..." his eyes flickered briefly down, then back up, "-grown up, huh?"

He grinned. "Better looking, and better at magic. I'll take it." He tilted his head, looking at her. "Wow, that's wild. So... what have you been doing since then? Didn't you disassemble the dishwasher?"

[Lysa]

she grinned at him she doesn't mind being appreciated now and again "Well Magic Manny that is what time does to people, we grown up."

When he mentions the dishwasher she cackles a little "I did indeed! not just that at one point or another I took apart every mechanical device in that house. I even put half of them back together again." she says with a giggle as she sips her beer again "But hey a growing girl has curious mind, wants to know how things work and it paid off I'm a pretty decent mechanic these days."

[Manny Donos]

Manny chuckled. "Yeah, that's about what I remembered. But hey, half together is pretty good."

His eyebrows went up. "No kidding, a mechanic? You should come by my shop. Well, it's more my bro Munchfronta's shop, but I help out, do a little business on the side. The Resistance, it's got all sorts of mechanical stuff there."

Dross gives Lysa a nod and a "Thanks." Well, someone is getting priority service now.

[Lysa]

Manny chuckled. "Yeah, that's about what I remembered. But hey, half together is pretty good."

His eyebrows went up. "No kidding, a mechanic? You should come by my shop. Well, it's more my bro Munchfronta's shop, but I help out, do a little business on the side. The Resistance, it's got all sorts of mechanical stuff there."

"Yeah! I tinker on all kinds of things! Have a little garage type set up next to my apartment where I work, I think ive been by The Resistance a few times to pick up what I couldn't salvage or scrounge up! Little chadrafan guy runs it yeah? He seems cool havent talked to him much. So you do magic and are a mechanic? Manny the magic mechanic, you have a thing for Ms Manny." He words flow out in a stream mind linking things together just fast enough for her to say them and giving Manny no quarter to speak up for awhile.

[Manny Donos]

"Uh..." Manny blinked, trying to keep up with her. He grinned. "Yeah, he's a Chadra-fan. He's the mechanic, not me. But I think it still counts for an M."

He chuckled, giving her a sidelong look. "You've got a fast mind, Lysa. I'm worried that if you see too many of my shows, you'll get all of my moves figured out."

[Lysa]

"Yeah I've been told that before, sometimes it works too fast you know? Sometimes it can be hard to focus on one thing unless i care about it enough. Even then my mind wanders when I'm trying to focus. But hey this" she shakes the bottle "or a few different pills out there can slow it down when i get tied of it."
