"Oh." Varina glanced around, wondering if that was a jab at her or if he was doing the same thing she was doing or something else entirely.

"One of the many guests of the heir to this throne we are all now standing in," he said. "I forget her name.. forgetable entirely if you ask me. Janice, Jasmine, Jeborah?" He shrugged.

"Someone chasing a life that she'll never receive, but I wonder if she put as much effort into chasing a true career instead of Tybalt that she might actually find what she's looking for. Wasted efforts and wasted spirits."

"It takes remarkably little education to sound intelligent, a bit like your tricks really. As long as you sound confident and you speak to one lacking in knowledge on the subject..." Jyrvess shrugs, "I didn't linger any many of them. It's more I am well read, particularly on the Outer Rim."

"Yeah..." Manny half-smiled, half-grimaced. "Well, that's good, because I've had remarkably little education. That... wasn't a big priority, at any of my homes."

She pats Manny on the arm, "Then you have misfortune on multiple counts, and my sympathies...for what they are worth."

"I'm not a fan of most of the people here," he leaned in and whispered. "Even Cho's," he wink and then leaned back.

"Don't worry though, as far as Chos is concerned even he would agree his adoptive son is a bit of a lout. Though.." he thought, but dismissed it.

"Most.. excitable," Chos said, warmly receiving him in. "One of my compatriots here was just telling us about his expectations on the market thanks to the temporary shut-down of Beinirk mines," Chos said, and then the other man of which he spoke went into a rather length discussion about the topic presented.

Ters listened attentively for a moment, then replied with some concern. "I imagine it has been difficult for many of you. But surely pressures on shipping have abated now that the Imperial Star Destroyer is present in the system?"

"Worse.. for now," a Quarren dressed in finery bristled. "Many of the Kamdan pilots I've hired take extra precaution and time to be sure they get through the required inspections and it hurts my business's profit margin, slightly," he chuckled a bit.

"Still.. the stability of the system has never been one to be questioned, but the presence of the Star Destroyer does give me confidence."

"Inspections?" The Judge ran his hand over his head. "I wonder if the central government has found our customs officials lacking. I hope not; I should hate to be swamped in smuggling cases. Fines upon fines," he shuddered, "and no way to resolve the cause."

"Lax, no," he said, shaking his head. Waving a hand to boot! "Just that they would not trust any other save for themselves! That, and they surely do not trust what the people may be bringing to Kamda.. or even off, perhaps."

Leah was naturally quite pretty to look at. However for this night, she was dressed up very elegantly; as Vex's assistant, she couldn't be seen to let her boss down. She wore a beautiful ball gown that Vex had arranged, a black off the shoulder dress that showed off her arms and a hint of chest.

She looked stunning, and she knew it. However she remained with Vex for now, giving a smile and a nod to those she knew.

Mallory was nearby, with her blaster concealed inside her jacket on the hip. Special arrangements were made with the security staff given Mallory's position. Vex, of course, hung out at the same table sitting and talking with many of those who wished to come to see her. Most of which were the thinly veiled disguises different gang leaders and other criminal heads of the city that came to talk to her about current events.

She left at earlier points and came back, always with Mallory in tow, and she was like to keep up that theme throughout the night.

"Whatever the matter," the Quarren said. "We are far from a forgotten world, just.. out of the way. Even the Empire understands our worth, more so now than prior perhaps!"

Sol studies the woman. He hasn't been particularly scared of her, but she had some experience it seemed. She had mentioned a group before...what were they again?

"I'm not exactly a stranger to violence. The crowd is a new thing though. My employers before I came here usually didn't like witnesses." Sol shrugs. "Maybe they'll let me warm up the crowd for you"

"Well, if you want to uh, if you're really serious about this, I guess you could talk to..." she looked around conspiratorially, then in a whisper continued, "...Grand. He's around here somewhere. Don't say I sent you. Or maybe do, I dunno, if he's like 'I don't know you'."

"Huh. What does this fellow look like?" Sol starts to scan to crowd

It was a very descriptive description she was giving; but if he'd pass into her field of view she'd at least give a headnod in that direction.

"Are you not a man of this planet?" they asked. Nearly thinking they should prod him awake. "Look at our people! Useful, independent, hard workers! Our mine feeds our industry which feeds our economy. Our farms bring food to not just Kamda but around the outer-rim as well!"
