[D10LA] The Good Stuff

[Manny Donos]

Manny was always happy to show off his knowledge of the best place on Kamda to find anything. Or, at least, a place on Kamda to find anything. So when Jyrvess suggested that he might go with her to find some Corellian Whiskey, he was happy to help.

He'd told her to meet him at a certain corner, a corner where he now waited. It was quiet, at least compared to a lot of Sapphire Alley, which in turn was subdued today, if only slightly. Life went on, after all, even when momentous events occurred.

He looked around expectantly. Manny looked a little worse for the wear, his face a little on the pale side, but his expression was as cheerful (and affably blank) as ever.

[Jyrvess Ertil]

Jyrvess announced herself by patting Manny on the shoulder, "Not very observant magician." She smirked, "Glad to see you alright. I saw Raven had a busted arm and figured if she walked away with that you'd be in a Bacta Tank."

Her eyes studied the surroundings, as always she was alert but a lot of the fear from her earlier days was gone.

[Manny Donos]

"Wha-? Oh." Manny grinned at her. "Hey, Jyrvess. Hey, really, it's not the magician that has to be observant. He just has to make sure the other guy isn't."

He nodded. "Yeah... she definitely drew a lot of fire. I think I drew my share... did you know that getting shot really hurts?" He winced, touching a hand to his chest. "Like, a lot."

[Jyrvess Ertil]

Jyrvess gently touched his chest, "Never been shot myself. They taught us to duck." Her hand pushed very slowly until he winced, "Are you sure you are fine?"

Her eyes were on his now, trying to read if he was just being a macho idiot. If he was then she would drag him to a medbay herself and then beat him senseless when the doctor finished putting him back together.

[Manny Donos]

"Ow!" Manny did, in fact, wince. Then he smiled at her. "Well, I don't recommend it. I'll try to remember to duck next time. Or move to the side, or something."

He shrugged. "I mean, yeah, sure, I'm fine. Had some stims last night. And this morning." He rubbed his head. "I should probably get it checked out today. You know a good doc?"

[Jyrvess Ertil]

"Yeah. I did." She frowned and withdrew her hand, "Look....just don't push yourself. I can't believe I admit this, in public, but I rather like you Manny. Enough that you being hurt does upset me." Jyrvess crossed her arms and gave him one of her angry school teacher glares, "You understand?"

[Manny Donos]

"Did?" Manny frowned. "But, uh..." He cleared his throat, shifting nervously under her gaze. "Yes, ma'am."

After a few moments, he cleared his throat, then smiled. "So... you rather like me, huh? Hang on." He pulled out his commlink, typing on it.

Jyr just said she likes me i feel like she'd want you to know

[Jyrvess Ertil]

"I don't really have many friends...to be blunt I had shut most everyone out...even before dad died. Being able to connect to people again...it means a lot more to me then I remembered." She glanced down at his commlink. "...did you just have to tell someone I said 'I like you'? You...really don't have much luck with women do you."

[Manny Donos]

"Hey, I do alright." Manny's grin definitely had a bit of a confident smirk to it. "Besides, I was just telling Raven. For documentation purposes is all."

His expression became more serious. "But for real. That's great, Jyrvess. I really like you, too." He gave her a nod. "So, I promise. I'll get it checked out. I'll be all better by the time you come over for the next game night."

[Jyrvess Ertil]

"Actually about that..." She frowned a little, "I...well I feel like this whole thing is getting bigger, that I need to be elsewhere. Not running anymore, but going out to find others. To help them understand they aren't alone and we are stronger together."

"I wouldn't mind someone watching my back though....." She said with a small smirk.

[Raven Cadera]

A message beeped back.

Have you started drinking already and telling tall tales?

[Manny Donos]

Manny glanced at the message. "Oh, come on." He chuckled, putting the commlink away.

"What did you have in mind?" Manny asked. "You want me to watch your back? Hey, no problem." He grinned. "You know I've got your back."

He paused. "And... I wanna be part of this thing, to. It means something. And I..." A hesitation, and then Manny shrugged, "I guess I want to do at least one thing that means something."

[Jyrvess Ertil]

"I know you do Manny," She nods, "But I mean...travelling off-world, possibly finding ourselves in trouble with no one to help."

Her expression turns serious, "You understand that Manny? You would be risking your life away from home."

[Manny Donos]

"Well, not no one. We'd have the rest of the crew." Manny nodded confidently. "Who all were you thinking?"

There was a brief hesitation, and then Manny nodded again. "Yeah... I get it. Look, I don't mind risking my life. And... maybe it's finally time for me to try somewhere besides Kamda. Making it big..." Manny chuckled, shaking his head. "I dunno. That used to be my goal, not it sounds kinda funny to me."

[Jyrvess Ertil]

"Dreams have a bad habit of turning to flights of fancy these days." Jyrvess patted Manny's shoulder, "But maybe someday children will be named for you. Might even have a statue on the Cor worlds."

More seriously she continued, "Perhaps I can show you Corellia, there are many on my homeworld who find the new order distasteful. There are worse places to find allies."

[Manny Donos]

"I guess." Manny made a face. "But if a bunch of kids are named Manny, maybe I'll have a harder time telling when someone's talking to me."

His expression brightened. "I'd love to see Corellia! That's, like, the most awesome Cor world. Yeah, I'd like to see it. Pick out a spot for my statue." He chuckled softly. "And gather allies and stuff."

He frowned suddenly. "You think I've got the skills for this, though?"

[Jyrvess Ertil]

"As much as I do.' Jyrvess chuckled, "On the job training."

Her eyes drift down the stalls, "But first I need some Corellian whiskey, for this evening. And some vweilu nuts."
