Pokosta Evening Gala [Day 4, Late Evening, Roleplay]

[Honor]

Up in the majestic Pokosta tower you could see the entire city below you, but most importantly the mountains in the distance separated from you by a large plain with a single rail-track running to the city. It was a truly marvelous sight. Guests of high station mingled with one another, spoke of important things and enjoyed the finer things Pokosta had on offer.

A performance was set to take place in the main room somewhere in the middle of the evening and then food would be served for his guests. At which point they would once more be free to mingle about for whatever time they may have left.

Guards were stationed all around, keeping a close eye on the guests. Ensuring that civility rang out throughout the event.

[Ters Tii]

Among the earlier guests to the event was the judge, who had long ago lost the desire to appear fashionably late to anything. He was dressed formally, but not with the sparkle and glitz that some in his profession would be wearing to Pokosta's place. After a moment to scan the room, Ters made his way forward to pay his respects to the host.

[Lassa Tenro]

Lassa was present in a sleek black dress. She smiled charmingly and made simple chit-chat with anyone who came near. She wandered around a bit mingling with people she knew from work or from interactions with the governor.

[Fuff]

Fuff the cat was there to entertain, and was dressed accordingly, a bit flashily - brocaded bell-bottomed one-piece with a cleavage for his mane - but still fitting in the landscape. His genial disposition attracted easy attention, and he wouldn't deny a soft chit-chat for a bit before moving on...

[Chos Pokosta]

Among the earlier guests to the event was the judge, who had long ago lost the desire to appear fashionably late to anything. He was dressed formally, but not with the sparkle and glitz that some in his profession would be wearing to Pokosta's place. After a moment to scan the room, Ters made his way forward to pay his respects to the host.

"Ters Tii," Pokosta turned slightly from his current conversation with a few guests. "Join us. We were just discussing the state of the galaxy," he said, and as he did the others made room for him to join their little circle.

[Jaxom Ursae]

This wasn't normally Jaxom's kind of party. But, he'd made a few contacts over the years and, especially, in the past few weeks. Gaining an invitation had been easy enough and the opportunity to gossip with a few of Kamda's more influential citizens was not one he could pass up. As he looked out over the city, he knew the troubles of those below were just beginning. He'd seen all of this before. If there was any information he could gather from the other guests to help ease the coming troubles, he had to try.

Ursae was dressed in his best, which was only a few grades below the worst attire of the elite. It was good enough.

[Manny Donos]

Manny actually cleaned up pretty nicely, with dark pants, a nice jacket... and a cape, of course. What was even the point of formal wear if you didn't get some sort of accessory? And a cape seemed a lot more useful than a monocle, which had been his other option.

He stood casually by the table with the drinks, a glass already in hand.

[Varina Ordo]

Manny actually cleaned up pretty nicely, with dark pants, a nice jacket... and a cape, of course. What was even the point of formal wear if you didn't get some sort of accessory? And a cape seemed a lot more useful than a monocle, which had been his other option.

Varina came right up to Manny to blend in after her sneaking blunder. "Heya. You see anybody you like?" she asked, coupled with a few, exaggerated winks.

[Jyrvess Ertil]

Jyrvess had snuck in, her clothing was appropriate but not flashy so she didn't stand out. Despite that she mingled well enough, able to converse on a variety of topics... though she left little impression.

Exactly as she preferred.

[Manny Donos]

Varina came right up to Manny to blend in after her sneaking blunder. "Heya. You see anybody you like?" she asked, coupled with a few, exaggerated winks.

"I do, actually." Manny said, smirking. "Her name is, uh..." He held up his glass, frowning into it. "Fancy alcoholic drink."

He frowned at her. "What are you doing here? This doesn't really seem like your kinda scene." Of course, it wasn't his, either...

[Varina Ordo]

"I do, actually." Manny said, smirking. "Her name is, uh..." He held up his glass, frowning into it. "Fancy alcoholic drink."

"I worked for this guy! Why wouldn't I drop by?" Varina glanced around. "Besides, lots of potential jobs to be had. I'm getting a hang of this merc business stuff. I only wanted to throw up twice!"

[Manny Donos]

Manny laughed softly. "Only twice, huh? That's pretty good." He took a sip of his drink.

He turned to look at her, frowning. "Wait, who did you work for?"

[Varina Ordo]

"Vex of course. Ya helped me meet her, remember?"

Jyrvess had snuck in, her clothing was appropriate but not flashy so she didn't stand out. Despite that she mingled well enough, able to converse on a variety of topics... though she left little impression.

Exactly as she preferred.

"Speaking of remembering, come, I want you to meet someone." It was time for Varina to play matchmaker. She strode forward, expecting Manny to follow her.

"Hey! Librarian lady! I don't think you've paid me for the last two weeks!"

[Roxi]

Roxi didn't know how to dress. Well, she knew how to *get* dressed. Put one foot into a hole. Put the other foot in the other hole. Repeat with hands and head. So on, and so on. But she didn't know how to dress in the way that the people *here* were used to dressing. With a little pointers from a few friendly folk, however, she might've at least made a passing effort; in that she didn't *entirely* look like a hobo mechanic anymore. Still, she clearly didn't fit in.

She missed the presence of her axe. Clothing be damned, without her axe she *truly* felt naked.

[Alder Divo]

"A busy bee," he commented, approaching up to her side. Taking a bite of some arranged food on a small stick.

"It's not been two weeks yet," Jyrvess's lip twitched in a nervous smile. She didn't need major exposure here. "Oh...hello Luke." She nods to Manny.

"Uh... Ms. BB. I hope you're doing well." Manny flashed her a nervous smile. Shoot, how were they supposed to behave? This was the problem with secret identities.

"So... how do you two know each other?" Manny asked, smiling.

[Roxi]

"Why.. I didn't think a fighter like you could dress at all to pass for a place like this," the man said with an overly inflated ego, noticeable in the cocky smirk he wore.

"Oh, mister Grand," she said, swallowing the bit of space-lobster on toast she'd inserted into her mouth just seconds earlier. Then did the same to the piece of toast with space-lobster on it she was holding in her other hand.

"Well, I did a job for Mr.Pokosta a while back you know," she said, mid-chew, "So you know... figured it was polite to show up."

[Varina Ordo]

"Oh you two have met?" Varina looked between the two with expecting eyes. She didn't know how her mom and dad had met but she really hoped to mimic the afterwards.

"Anyways, it's supposed to be every week. So time to pay up." Varina gave her best impression of a bully. She nudged Manny with her foot; it was his time to shine.
