[LM2] Combing the Desert

The Karkarodon Executioner started on surveying, with the aid of Raven.

I'd like to use those 2 advantages to pick out something useful to the scene. What's the temperament of the troopers and ol' Randy?

Randy appears to be keeping his cool, intentionally. Meanwhile, the troopers on hand are watching your investigation with mixed levels of interest and boredom. The Sergeant in particular, however, doesn't seem to be paying much attention unless someone moves to touch something in the storeroom.

Randy is acting like... well... someone who's trying too hard to not be nervous. He chuckled to himself.

But the Sergeant. Their activity got the attention of the sharkman. Folding his arms across his chest, he moved across the storeroom... and touched something.

"S-sir.." she said, taking the moment to ensure that was the appropriate address. "Is that truly necessary for your investigation?"

"Yeah. It is, sergeant." He said with a certain cold gruffness, poking another container, maybe giving it a little wobble, before looking to the Trooper. "Trying to look for clues. Why? Do we... make you nervous, sergeant?" He asked, looking to his associates, then back to the trooper, keeping his HUD up on the scanner goggles. "Like my Mandalorian friend asked, what's the deal here? What's in these storage containers?"

OOC: Do we see any specific Imperial OSHA safety markings? Biohazard, radioactive, flamable? Anything like that?

[Raven Cadera]

If she was in need of stealing supplies, she wouldn't steal it from an Imperial research outpost, that was for sure. "Uh, yeah." Raven nodded, backing up Tranq.

"You guys see anything out of the ordinary?" she looked to Claymore and Solork.

"Unlike the doctor," she said, "I am not welcoming. Nor do I enjoy the idea of having civilians poking around in a research center that it is my duty to keep secure. Yet, those above my position think it's the only way to solve this dilemma and now I have to put up with your lot. Exposing my station to inquiry and the potential for theft."

"What is in those containers has already been explained to you, scoundrel, and I would advise you to remember your place when speaking with me or the doctor here. Understood?" she says, her voice coming through the trooper vocoder.

[Tranq Sayzin]

"So tell me, sergeant, what do you think this dilemma is. You've been boots on the ground here. You want us gone, frankly, I don't like being here either. But I set out to do a job, and I don't go back on my word. So help us help you, and we will all go about our lives away from each other." He stood tall before the trooper, arms folded across his broad chest.

"You just look nervous when you see us moving... anything. Obviously no one here is stupid enough to try and palm something away while you're watching. But this looks like..." something that Master Scylla once said "... a locked room mystery."

[Claymore Frost]

"I'm not sure, but there are some very clean areas, like too clean. But, I don't if it's from the break-in or not..."

"Speak plainly, non-human," she said venomously. "If you want to levy an accusation you best do it, otherwise, -" the Doctor cut off the sergeant.

"Woah woah woah," he said, coming between Tranq and the Sergeant. "Perhaps we're done for today, yes? Better everyone settle down and we can get back to work another time? Yes?" he said, turning away from the sergeant and looking to Tranq and his friends.

[Raven Cadera]

"Too clean?" Raven was, kind of on purpose, ignoring the spat between Tranq and the sarge, as she was more interested in what Claymore was looking at.

[Claymore Frost]

"Yes, there are spots in this room that are white room clean, but the surrounding are the normal levels of 'clean'. I don't know if it's new or the area normal from something like a cleaning droid. It's definitely an abnormality to look at." Clay starts looking around cleaning droids.

"No accusation, Sarge." The Karkarodon stood tall. If he had a skeletal structure of bone, the sound of the vertebrae in his neck popping as he stretched his neck as he looked at the trooper would be audible. However, with the softer cartilage, it didn't quite have that effect. He straightened his posture, eyes narrowing looking to the sergeant. "Just trying to get all the details. Whatever information you know could help us solve this little problem." His arms folded across his chest, before the doctor intervened.

"Sure, no problem, Doc. Maybe cooler heads. Seems things are a bit tense here, understandable. Someone's running off with some gear, and this place is in the middle of nowhere. Makes things difficult, I get it. Don't worry, we'll get to the bottom of this, that's why we took the job. Like I said, I'm a man of my word."

[Randall Tarkin]

Dr. Tarkin walks passed Tranq, bringing up a hand to get the Karkadon to turn with him. Speaking softly he went on, "Thank you for the work you've done, but I am afraid the sergeant is rather on edge. You see, you pose a risk to the undermining of her ability, you see? If you were to solve this mystery.. well, I am afraid the good sergeant would be left to answer to her superiors why she and her people did not. Leaving her.. ideologies aside, this would be a great insult to her career."

[Tranq Sayzin]

Good.

"Not trying to make anyone here look bad," He gave a slight look to the Sergeant, though in his instinct, he could tell blood was in the water, "Just trying to get paid. Help a few people out." He lowered his voice as he spoke to the Doctor. "Don't thank me yet, haven't really done anything."

[Randall Tarkin]

"Of course, right.. right," he said, walking around to a corner of the room. Near enough to be witnessed by the others but otherwise he brought Tranq over to a box. Opening it, he revealed just as he said before. "Medicine, food, all of the supplies one might wish if they were stranded alone in a desert don't you think? It's our most valuable resource out here, so you can understand why the Imperial command is livid at losing out on so much of it."

[Raven Cadera]

"Hmm... what else is out here in the desert, apart from you guys?" She asked as she figured this wasteland was different from that of Concord Dawn.

[Randall Tarkin]

"Desert, sand, creatures, and the occasional Jawa band," Dr. Tarkin said. "Perhaps the roaming scavenger or two, but the Sergeant takes care to ensure our safety against anyone unsavory. She's very.. particular about her security."

[Raven Cadera]

"Hmm... what say you guys?" Raven looked to her companions. "Should we continue the search later in the area?"

[Solork Tan]

Solork nods at Raven's comment. "If we don't have access to the security systems, then I don't know what else we can do here."

[Claymore Frost]

"I'm ready to go."
