[D2EE] Hot Crimes

It had been a bit of luck to find a floatvan with the code cylinder still in the ignition. But as Manny liked to say, what was luck but a bit of magic that a good magician could... something something with?

Okay, maybe it wasn't something he said that often.

Still, it was serving them well as they drove out towards their prize...

It was the hot sand of the desert that was a problem, though the sun was starting to lower in the sky it still kicked up a bit and got everywhere. Making this work rather uncomfortable. Yet, they were able to persevere and get looking for the goods.

Now.. the map pointed them somewhere this way..

With potential time paradoxes resolved: Jyvress and a droid pop into existence in the speeder. She kept her eyes on the horizon and thought she spied something.

Jyvress spots some drag-marks nearby where the crate was supposedly supposed to be.

[Fuff]

Fuff was comfortable being silent for a while, watching the views as the speeder was combing the desert, but as they were reaching the destination and the crate was nowhere to be seen, he grunted. "It can never be too easy too with anything, can it?"

[Jyrvess Ertil]

Jyvress let out a sigh, "Nothing is ever easy." She turned in her seat to peer down at the marks, "I don't suppose either of you two are trackers...."

[Fuff]

"I can certainly give it a try. I haven't come here to leave empty-pawed, and neither have you. So let's give it a shot." Fuff would jump off the speeder once it would stop and get on it.

[Manny Donos]

Manny pulled the speeder alongside the tracks, careful not to let the repulsor wash hit them. "Hey, if it was too easy, we'd know something bad was gonna happen later. Probably better to get it out of the way."

He frowned, as he hopped out, ready to help with the tracks. "Maybe it'll be easy to follow. I just wonder what we're gonna find at the end of it."

[Fuff]

"Hate to breach it to you at a moment like this, but I am not really a fighter. So whoever has it now, I hope to retrieve it without them knowing. Failing that, without them shooting. And your opinions?"

[Jyrvess Ertil]

"I have never had to shoot or stab someone." Jyvress added quietly. "Solving this without violence would be preferable."

[Munchfronta]

Munch is in a back seat wearing what looks a lot like a sombrero

"Violence is always a last resort. But since I'm a notorious terrorist now, I can shoot anyone who needs shooting."

[Manny Donos]

"We'll see what's there. Then we'll improvise." Manny looked up from the tracks, grinning. "Don't worry. I'm good at improvising."

[Honor]

So long as someone gets down onto the sand and follows the track carefully. They are able to follow the trail for a while.

Eventually, it leads them to a small crevice that seems to have a natural slope entry.

Munch is in a back seat wearing what looks a lot like a sombrero

"Violence is always a last resort. But since I'm a notorious terrorist now, I can shoot anyone who needs shooting."

"My sympathies on your entanglement with the ISB." She remarks suddenly, "They are a cruel, sadistic, and utterly monstrous group." Venom practically drips from her voice as she speaks.

After arriving at the slope. "...Could it be local wildlife. I hear there are gundarks on the planet."

[Manny Donos]

Manny gave BB a curious look, then grimaced, shaking his head. This actually wasn't the time to ask about personal stuff. "What would gundarks want with a crate? Unless there was food inside... but no, I guess it's sealed."

Crouching down, he began moving forward, carefully and quietly.

[Munchfronta]

"My sympathies on your entanglement with the ISB." She remarks suddenly, "They are a cruel, sadistic, and utterly monstrous group." Venom practically drips from her voice as she speaks.

“Yeah, they’re real sleebs. Definitely the most cruelest and monstrous sadistic folks who ever took my shop away from me. Except for Chav The Killer. Except it was never personal with Chav, he was just there for a good time.”

“Could be some nasty creepy crawlies in there. You fall into a nest of gundarks someone best pull you out.”

Jyrvess motions for the lifter droid to stay back and moves up behind Manny. She wasn't sure exactly if she could help...but was ready regardless.

[Fuff]

Fuff pushed the shivers the talk on ISB was giving him away for the time being. He had his own batch of bad experiences to contribute but it was something that wouldn't help him stay focused on the task.

"...My belief is that anything that's conscious can be reasoned with, or outwitted. Thing is whether we have the bargaining chips." Fuff looked at the structure of the crevice. Could it be collapsed or blocked to close a chaser off if someone did a tactical retreat?

After the successful stealth Roll a Perception check at average may be made by the successful stealth roller and anyone who they brought with them with 1 setback for lighting inside the cave.]

Manny crept forward, but the ground beneath him gave way, making him slide...
