Vexing Questions (D3 EA)

[Leah kuso]

Try as she might Leah couldn't get the vision out of her head. It meant something. It had to mean something! However there was nothing she could find or think of that matched what she saw...

There was one person though. One woman, who literally knew everything (at least in Leahs mind). She'd done some work already recruiting the shark of justice to help defend Lux (just not making it obvious the crime links) and had put out feelers for others. Maybe Vex could help her?

She arrived at the club early, spotting the location and heading up towards Vexs office.

As always, between Leah and the door was Mallory. Who stood there ready, as always. However, when Leah walked over she didn't wait and making an assumption she opened the door. Waiting for Leah to walk over, and in.

[Leah kuso]

...Huh. No check?

Leah gave Mallory a smile and a nod.

"Afternoon sir. Vex isn't busy then?"

She passed through to look.

[Mallory]

"Nope," she said, making way.

[Vex]

"Leah darling, come in," Vex said, standing from her desk she walked over toward the front of it and leaned against the glass.

[Leah kuso]

"Hey" Leah smiled, giving Vex a small wave as she entered "I'll need my own chair soon if I keep coming into your office right?" She laughed, taking a step to the side and waiting for the door to be closed before continuing "hope everything's ok? I spoke with someone last night and they'll be able to help with everything. They're a bit of a...justice-y type though so might be worth not making every detail open."

"You've a natural talent for this, Leah," she said with a smile. "Someone like that can be just as easily manipulated as any other, it's just a matter of changing their perspective. Which.. sounds to me you have managed to do excellently? I'm proud."

"So long as things go well this evening, we should be able to buy ourselves some time to prepare for what the Hutts send our way."

[Leah kuso]

Leah smiled at that. "The Hutts are going to find that Kamda doesn't welcome them muscling in, and they can slither away to try a different planet!"

She paused, before looking thoughtful.

"I was wondering...well, I had two things to ask, and both might seem a little unusual, but I can explain. The first one is...well...have you heard anything about a fighting arena in the area?"

[Vex]

Vex smiled, quite amused with her little Leah. So happy to fight against the Hutts it almost made Momma-crime-boss wanna tear up a little, but she wouldn't.

Instead she turned to the inquisitive, "In the area, no. I'm afraid nothing so close.. but close enough, I suppose. Why do you wish to find this arena? Hoping to place some bets?" she chuckled.

[Leah kuso]

"I...don't know how to explain" Leah bit her lip, not sure how to say what was on her mind "there's something there...tied to me. But I don't know what, my gut is telling me though I need to go there. I always trust my gut feeling."

She paused again.

"I think it has something to do with...with me."

[Vex]

Vex looked to Mallory, who didn't quite respond much but on further scrutiny offered a shrug, and then back to Leah, "Suppose you are of that age.." she thought, laid her hands back on her desk and let her nails clack against the glass.

"I will even get you there, and they will know not to harm you. On our very moon sits a port, a port of thieves. One run by a detestable man named Grand. We have our arrangements but I am quite glad that he is up there and stays up there. Now, one of his favorite past-times is his arena. A gruesome bloodsport where he pits beast against beings, and beings against beings. "

"Now.." she said, leaning away from her desk. Looking for something on a nearby desk, "I have heard that his.. 'champion' as he likes to call them is a Jedi of old. Though these rumors are likely to just be there to drum up interest in his little pet project. Likely not worth the breath it takes to mention them," finding what she wanted she handed over a sort of transmitter/receiver to Leah.

"This is mine, activate it away from the city and they will send a shuttle to pick you up."

[Leah kuso]

Jedi...

So there was one here....Leah accepted the receiver, nodding and putting it in her pocket.

"Thanks Vex. That is cool. I'm sure it's nothing, but I need to see for myself what the pull is. That...also kind of links in to the other thing. You know of a Jedi then? Or at least a claimed Jedi? I guess you haven't met this apparent Jedi who is a champion..."

Leah frowned.

"Last night after I finished work I heard of something like that. A Jedi apparently in the slums. I went there to see if it was true, and found something...someone else. A horrible man wearing a mask and had a glowing red sword. He mentioned Jedi also, and mistook me for one."

[Vex]

Vex seemed to narrow her brows at that, thinking, "Strange.." she said, "I can look into it for you darling, but it sounds like this is something you should avoid in the future? Never know who these supposed Jedi may have made enemies with, let alone the Empire at large. Betraying the galaxy, as they did."

[Leah kuso]

"I don't want to run into that guy again. He had a load of guards outside the house, so I think he's linked to something happening here. He also..." Leah paused, remembering the moment with a shudder "he said he felt something. I don't know what. My father used to idolize Jedi, saying they were defenders of the galaxy and amazing people. When they did what they did...I guess that's all ancient history now, but the way that guy acted and what he could do. It was pretty scary. LIke, he just pulled me over using nothing but some kind of magic!"

She shuddered again.

"Yeah, I really don't want to cross him again. Don't want you to get hurt looking into it either."

[Vex]

Vex approached, smiled, and brushed Leah's cheek with the back of her hand, "Don't you worry now, there are few things that I wish to know which are dangerous for me to look into," she said. "Now," she said, stepping back, "there was another thing you wished to ask of me?"

[Leah kuso]

Leah smiled.

"Yeah I know. I'd just hate to get you into trouble over a gut feeling."

She took a moment before asking "yeah I uh...wanted to know what you knew about Jedi in general. Like what they could do and stuff. There's a reason they're hunted beyond just enemy of the galaxy right?"

[Vex]

"No, it was not something that I concerned myself with. My father once spoke of them in great detail but.. I'm afraid I never quite listened to all of his stories. Supposedly they were of greater strength and merit than your average individual, there was a reason it was such a fearful moment when they attempted their coup," she shrugged. "Perhaps it was all another power struggle, one side won out while the other collapsed. Just on a greater scale."

[Leah kuso]

Leah nodded. It wasn't much, but it was something at least. "It had to be a pretty fearful moment when heroes become villains, especially if they were capable of feats like people used to tell in stories. I'll have to be doubly careful then. Thanks as always Vex" she smiled at the woman "I'm sure its nothing, just...I've always trusted my gut instinct."

[Vex]

"If it's brought you this far, why distrust it?" she commented with a smile. "Do be sure to be careful up there, pirates and the like. Even with my word it can be a little.. too close for comfort."

[Leah kuso]

"It's ok, I've had some training in defending myself" Leah smiled in Mallorys direction "but I'll be extra careful. If this Grand runs the place and has arrangements with you I'll make sure to keep him extra sweet as well. Even detestable men have some value with what is going on down here, right?"
