Pokosta Evening Gala [Day 4, Late Evening, Roleplay]

[Leah kuso]

Leah was naturally quite pretty to look at. However for this night, she was dressed up very elegantly; as Vex's assistant, she couldn't be seen to let her boss down. She wore a beautiful ball gown that Vex had arranged, a black off the shoulder dress that showed off her arms and a hint of chest.

She looked stunning, and she knew it. However she remained with Vex for now, giving a smile and a nod to those she knew.

[Lysa]

Lysa was at the gala in a surprisingly subdued little black dress her blue hair in a long braid down her back, she may not have been Vex's assistant but people in the know knew who she worked for and Vex wouldn't have an employee making her look bad by looking bad themselves.

She floated around the party with a glass of wine not actively engaging anyone really and mostly wandering with a vaguely bored look on her face.

[Alder Divo]

“The invitation no doubt came due to my connection with the governor, but it’s as personal as things are allowed to be at the moment I suppose.” She said with a soft smile.

“You on duty, sir? I suppose one in the ISB is never fully off duty.”

"Never, but it is work that keeps our Empire secure. Safe. For people like you, the ones in this room," he glanced toward the big window that had the city far below, "and them. It is.. rather amazing, the things you discover about people despite their best efforts to conceal it. Sometimes hiding the truth even from themselves."

[Raven Cadera]

Raven owned nothing fancy at all. And had no idea what people wore to occassions like these, except for what she sometimes saw on the Holonet. But she was pretty confident that wearing armor and helmet would draw way too much attention here... so she had rented a suit and paid the ones running the salon to dress her up. And they'd done a pretty decent job of it too.

She knew Praxton had said to not show her face to the enemy, but... in this case, it could be for the benefit of the group. Hopefully. And hopefully she didn't really catch the attention of anyone unpleasant.

Seeing that others grabbed drinks as the waiter came around, she did the same and did her best to meld into the wallpaper.

[Lysa]

Lysa saw the handsomely dressed woman and her eyebrow arched. She was curious.

She approached and nodded to the woman "You don't seem like you fit in here." She didn't either "I like your suit." Lysa likely would have worn something similar but brighter had she been feeling up to planning.

[Raven Cadera]

"Is it that obvious?" she said, kind of displeased that she still looked so out of place as she looked down at the smaller woman.

Then she kind of connected the dots, and recognized the grenade-happy gal from a weeks ago. "Thanks though. You look pretty good yourself."

[Lysa]

"Its not how you look, its a feeling thing. You're not used to gathering like this. Its a vibe you know?" She explained in a subdued manner. She wore the same face but seemed like almost an entirely different person, soft spoken and calm.

She smiled at Raven's compliment but the expression barely went past her mouth "Thank you, my boss wouldn't appreciate me showing up looking bad." She had never seen Raven's face and had only heard her voice through modulation weeks ago. She had no idea who this was. "I'm Lysa."

[Raven Cadera]

"I know," she smirked briefly, trying to put the discomfort behind her. "We worked together not too long ago. I'm Raven."

Raven hoped that Lysa wasn't going to loudly talk about that time they blew up a bunch of Hutt enforcers.

[Lysa]

Her eyes registered recognition of the event "Oh yeah, that was a good night." She said looking down at her drink with a wistful smile that appeared one moment and was gone the next.

She looked back up and drank then gave Raven a once over "You clean up really well, though I'd guess you'd rather be in the armor."

Lysa took a deep breath looking around and back to Raven "So what brings you here? I kind of doubt its just to enjoy the party."

[Raven Cadera]

"Kriff yeah," she said with a wistful sigh in her tone, pausing to look down at her own drink. It was probably a martini of sorts, Raven figured, since that was what the fancy weak snobs seemed to like. It wasn't anything like Mandalorian ale.

"Oh, you know, it's the event of the year. Wouldn't miss it for the world." Raven delivered the polite lie poorly in a deadpone tone. She couldn't exactly say she was here snooping around for secrets. "Same for you, or...?"

[Lassa Tenro]

"Never, but it is work that keeps our Empire secure. Safe. For people like you, the ones in this room," he glanced toward the big window that had the city far below, "and them. “Oh? And what truths have you discovered this evening?” She asked as she took a sip of something regal.

[Lysa]

"Kriff yeah," she said with a wistful sigh in her tone, pausing to look down at her own drink. It was probably a martini of sorts, Raven figured, since that was what the fancy weak snobs seemed to like. It wasn't anything like Mandalorian ale.

"Oh, you know, it's the event of the year. Wouldn't miss it for the world." Raven delivered the polite lie poorly in a deadpone tone. She couldn't exactly say she was here snooping around for secrets. "Same for you, or...?"

Lysa snorted a little then shrugged "It was a reason to get out of bed. Boss would want me here. Keep up appearances." She too had been sent to be another set of eyes and ears. But saying so out loud would be a misplay indeed.

[Jyrvess Ertil]

"Huh?" Manny raised his hands, smiling. "Hey, I'm not playing a game. Well, earlier I was pretending to be Alderaanian royalty, but not right now. Varina was... being a teen girl, I guess."

He glanced around, then leaned a little closer. "The question is, what kind of game are you worried I'm playing? Oh, and call me Manny. It's my name, after all." He gave her a friendly smile; perhaps that piece of honesty would reassure her.

Jyrvess crossed her arms, "No...too clueless." She smiled, "And yeah, just a teen girl doing teen girl things." Her hand patted Manny on the shoulder, "Are you sure, I think Luke suits you. It's plan, if a bit unheroic." Her voice was teasing.

"So that's how you got here? And they believed it? I just showed up dressed like hired help then changed to more formal attire later."

[Manny Donos]

Jyrvess crossed her arms, "No...too clueless." She smiled, "And yeah, just a teen girl doing teen girl things." Her hand patted Manny on the shoulder, "Are you sure, I think Luke suits you. It's plan, if a bit unheroic." Her voice was teasing.

"So that's how you got here? And they believed it? I just showed up dressed like hired help then changed to more formal attire later."

"Ooh, that's a good one." Manny nodded. "I've done that before by accident. Show up as hired help, see something I wanted..." He mimed opening up a jacket and tucking something inside.

"And besides, it's all in the attitude, right? And the clothes." He shot a smirk at her, as a toss of his arm made his cape billow. "What, isn't this a heroic cape? Would a Luke wear a cape like this?"

Lysa waved a hand "Sorry I said too much, thats one of those questions you're supposed to give superficial answers to." She was barely drinking the drink she had "besides alcohol isn't really what I look for to feel better." She says with a thin chuckle.

"What have you been up to since that job? Anything exciting?" She asked with a raised eyebrow trying to get the conversation off her.

[Jyrvess Ertil]

"Ooh, that's a good one." Manny nodded. "I've done that before by accident. Show up as hired help, see something I wanted..." He mimed opening up a jacket and tucking something inside.

"And besides, it's all in the attitude, right? And the clothes." He shot a smirk at her, as a toss of his arm made his cape billow. "What, isn't this a heroic cape? Would a Luke wear a cape like this?"

"Speaking of who are you suppose to be Luke Manny?"

"That cape is ridiculous," Jyrvess was unimpressed by the flourish. "But yeah suitable for Alderaanian. Some of the Houses have no fashion sense newer then the last millennium."

Her eyes drifted across the room again. She had lost sight of the ISB man, which was reassuring and frightening at the same time.

"Speaking of who are you suppose to be Luke Manny?"

'Ridiculous!" Manny gave her a falsely-outraged look. "You insult the royal house of Alderaan?" He chuckled, letting the cape drift back down.

For all his silliness, Manny was fairly alert; he gave Jyrvess a curious look as she glanced around. But he let it pass. "I claimed," he began, "to be Theodus Alder, exiled crown prince of Alderaan. This may surprise you, but I don't know much about Alderaan." His tone was blandly ironic. "Like I said, it's all about attitude."

[Jyrvess Ertil]

'Ridiculous!" Manny gave her a falsely-outraged look. "You insult the royal house of Alderaan?" He chuckled, letting the cape drift back down.

Jyrvess rolled her eyes and let exasperation show on her face. "Lucky for you Kamda is so far from the Core. You'd have been laughed out of a formal party on Coruscant or Corellia."

"But then as you say...some times a lie is so audacious it's easier just to believe it then believe the person making it is that dumb."

[Alder Divo]

“Oh? And what truths have you discovered this evening?” She asked as she took a sip of something regal.

"Quite a few, but the ones most troublesome are the ones that involve an individual who has spent years trying to hide who they really are. Perhaps, they remind themselves every morning so they don't lose sight of themselves but bury that down when they have to move about their days. Keeping secrets, telling lies. All of this, they tell themselves, is the right thing to do. Is it though? I wonder.. how many people might they have hurt through their actions over the years, I don't know. I'm not sure if I was in any other business I would want to know, and certainly I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't want to know themselves."
