[D2, LE] A Conversation About Procedure and Accommodation

Strength of walls mixed with the aesthetic of the planets artisans, this building shows the life of Kamda as it is today, suffocated by Imperial oppression.

[D2, LE] A Conversation About Procedure and Accommodation

Post by Ters Tii » Sun Jul 12, 2020 4:04 am

Having just resolved yet another appearance of Ag Gress-Iv's 612th Street Gang before his bench, Ters went on break. Moving at a brisk pace down the hallways of the various judicial chambers, he came at last to the intake officer for the corrections department.

"Mac," he said with some judicial authority. "I have some concerns that I think only you can relieve."

"What might I help you with Sir?" the dutiful man quickly hopped up to attention.

Ters leaned forward and spoke quietly but firmly.

"It's regarding a recommendation for prison placement. I've just sentenced some of the 612s and was about to assign them, when my clerk reminded me of the recent arrest of a...subversive. It strikes me as rather irresponsible to place our street lads, especially Gress-Iv's bunch, in with a person with the reputation that this subversive has. So, if you could tell me which of our fine correctional facilities to avoid, I think we can save the Governor a rather serious headache later."

"Hmm.." he said, the clacking of a keyboard as he entered information into his terminal. Another page, more clacking. Another, more clacking. Finally, Mac shook his head and looked back up to Ters, "I'm afraid Sir I don't see any file referencing an arrest of any subversives in the area."

"That is...interesting. But talk is cheap, I suppose, and people enjoy their stories of sorcery and what-have-you." Ters clapped Mac on the shoulder. "Thank you for this. My mind is much relieved. Can you imagine if our street gangs became infected with such nonsense?"

Mac barely contained a smile, maybe this meant things were going to start looking up for him?

"Whatever keeps the true scum and villains off the streets sir."

Ters nodded. "Right. Thanks again, Mac. Well, the forms call. Take care."

Ters turned back down the hallway, mind already cycling. A black site? Or perhaps a false rumor put out by the ISB? Hmm...
