Luke, Munch, Mrs BB and Mr Gib with a box-hauling droid in tow walk into a bar...

Jyrvess stretches and yawns. She wasn't much of a night owl...also she was probably causing mischief earlier.

"Should I get you a kaf, Mrs BB?" Fuff asked.

"Ah no...I plan on crashing after this." She smiled meekly. "Are you a nocturnal fellow, Mr. Gib?"

Her eyes flicked back to the crate.

Manny was already in the bar; he had finished a set not too long ago.

"Hey guys!" He said, grinning and waving as he approached. "Good times yesterday, huh? Ready to do this thing?"

"I actually am. Gig economy demands as much. Though I would probably be anyway." His retinas had indeed been changing depending on photon supply.

The cat waved to Manny, then showed him a thumb up. Having thumbs and a prehensile tail was having the best of both evolutionary worlds.

"I bet there's lost Republic gold in there, a tonne of it."

"I think that is just a story," Jyvress replied, "Besides there are things far more valuable to the right people." Her comments were awfully confident for a mousy librarian.

"Maybe." Manny said. "But I bet a box full of Republic gold would be worth something to a lot of people."

He frowned, chewing his lip as he studied the box. "So... we're not supposed to open it, right?"

Jyvress shot Manny a dirty look, "Don't think about it Luke. Even if it is gold...do you have a way of selling off a large amount of gold that isn't going to bring some very nasty questions from some very nasty people?"

"Hey hey," Manny raised his hands, grinning. "Don't worry. I'm just curious."

He glowered at the box. "As a magician, I know that acting like you're hiding something makes people focus on it, want to know what it is all the more." He sighed. "It really does work."

"Yeah....but I mean, you know. If we left it somewhere and it got peaked at...."

"I am familiar with deception and misdirection operations, their uses, and deployment." Jyvress shrugs, "Magical flimflam as you call it. I am also familiar with the need to preserve privacy. We don't want offend our employer." She winces a little after seeming to understand what she had said. "Sorry the crack down has me on edge."

Indeed, Manny's face did fall noticeably at the phrase 'magical flimflam'.

He shrugged. "No big. I get it. Don't worry, we're not gonna do anything stupid, I promise."

"I'd have to listen carefully to your pointers on deception and misdirection, Mrs BB, as such seem rather useful to follow. But this is for another time." The cat smirked. "Today, as you say, let's establish credentials. The need to eat doesn't vanish after first payroll is gone."

As they waited at a bar a comely Zabrak woman walked up by them, "Y'all here lookin' for Jarvis?"

"Yup, we're back with some good news."

"Awesome," she said cheerily. "Of you'll follow me?" she directed them outside.

Fuff was suspicious. Still, he followed at the end of the queue out.

Jyvress looks to her three compatriots and gives them a nod, then follows the Zabrak. Like Fuff, she was a little on edge as they walked out.
