[D3 EA] Chasing the Sword

Solork had heard that he was supposed to chase down rumors about someone with a glowing sword was around. The people in the slums had said that this was the kind of thing that you would need to head to Favna for, so here he was.
"Glowing sword, like the Jedi of old? Something in this area?" Its a heavy amount of beating the street, trying to find the next lead.

When he started talking about Jedi, there were a few patrons who perked up their ears but Nerra beat them all to the punch. Placing his hand on Solorks shoulder he directed him toward an empty booth and sat down with him.

Solork doesn't react vocally when the hand is placed on him, but Nerra can feel him stiffen. Solork moves to the booth.
"I assume that I mentioned a topic to great interest to you."

"One that concerns me," he says, settling himself into his seat. "You are aware, the question you are asking so openly could bring a lot of trouble your way? Most have tried to forget such things. You should be more careful what you say, especially in a crowd, and even in here."

"The type of trouble of which you speak is not the type I fear falling on me." Solork replies, cocking his head to the side. "However, I achknowledge that it may fall on the people here. That indeed would be an unfortunate thing. In that regard, I was indeed in error."
Solork sighes. "I had heard a rumor, and it-" He cuts himself off. "I have complicated history with them. Well, with their followers and believers anyway. Some of them..." The Gank's gaze is suddenly very far away for a moment. "Well, I owe a great deal to. Hearing even the faintest of whispers that one might be nearby, well." Solork inclines his head.

"Come with me," he said, standing slow but sure. Resting himself in every motion. Walking through Favna, "It is good that you are aware of yourself, to know what danger you pose to others. Though, I would advise against your willingness to accept it onto yourself so freely. There is much a person might do while they are alive and it is best to keep yourself that way, and outside of an Imperial prison."

"It is a new consideration, to care of others outside the Pack." Solork rises to follow Nerra.
"While I have no fondness of an Imperial prison, I cannot live in fear. Fear clouds judgement, leads to anger, leads to hate. Fear would prevent me from following a stranger to a back room, despite the potential wisdom to be gained." Solork makes a small deferential bow to Nerra.
"Though you make a valid point. Alive, there is the chance to adapt. If you have suggestions in mind..." There is a small noise as the servos in Solorks mechanical arm whine, the repulsors pushed together. "I would like to hear them"

"Be more careful in your pursuit," he said, pushing aside the door as he walked into the room. A separate desk laid out for them to speak at. When they sat he laid his hands out on the table. "You should be more aware of what you say, and what others might do when you ask a question. You ask out there about the Jedi, and they will consider informing the authorities in case you are one of them, in case they might be in danger."
"What the world knows of them and their order has.. changed, been confirmed darker for many. Yet, you come and ask for them comfortably. I admire it, even if I do fear for what may come of it. Still.. you seek something, what do you know of it?"

"What I know." Solork let's out a long sigh, the sound sending a rasp of synth.
"I know they were either a beacon of hope or dread legend depending on which side of the Clone Wars you were on, not that I or any of mine ever saw one in the flesh."
Solork pauses. "I know what they mean to those who follow the teachings of The Force, even if they could never touch it the same way. I know what the Empire does to them for holding onto their beliefs. I know that they fear it, as they say otherwise. No one spends that much effort silencing someone if they do not fear what may be said. And..."
Solork pauses. "I know some of the lessons from those monks. They cared for me after a job went bad. Healed me. Shared their philosophy. They gave me something to hold onto when I had nothing. It is they I owe a debt to."

"So you have come here, chasing a rumor? Would you repeat this rumor for me?" he asked.

Solork gestures to the front of the bar. "Your people took my sword from me. I was practicing with it when a pair of children let it slip that I was "another one of them", and then debated whether I was because my sword did not "glow". I attempted to find out more, but all I could get was that if I was to start looking, that I should come here"
The Gank pauses. "Admittedly, when I say that out loud, I understand how thin that is. But if there was a chance that one was here..." He trails off. "I owe it to see if it is true or not"

"Strange, I do not know of any glowing swords," he said, brushing his chin. "But, perhaps there is someone here who might. My advice.. go out there, ask around, and if not.. just listen in to what the others say. Perhaps, perhaps they will offer you the information you need."
Outside in the main part of the Bar please attempt a: Streetwise Check at Average, or/and a Perception check also at Average. You only need to succeed one.

"Thank you. I will be more discreet in what I find. In return...well, would you like to know where it leads? I understand if you want plausible deniability."
Solork goes out and does his best to find out more, taking Neera's advice. At first, he pushes, only to be rebuffed. After that, he retreats out of sight, trying to see what conservation that is able to spring up without a looming masked figure around them. Sadly, even that doesn't work. Defeated, Solork retreats back to Neera's office.
"I'm sorry, I seem to have completely failed to find anything useful"

"It is alright," he said, patting his table. "Still, your search for this weapon. It is because of your debt to those who healed you, saved you, correct? Perhaps then.. perhaps I might offer you another idea."

"It is. I mean, who wouldn't want to have one of those legendary weapons?" Solork chuckles. "But my full interest does indeed lie in the debt I mentioned."

"Perhaps, then," he said, "perhaps I can offer you another alternative to your pursuit. Before I go on, however, please be sure to shut the door and move that," he referenced a empty bookshelf with some padding, "in front of it."

Solork slowly inclines his head to the side in a quizzical manner, then slowly gets up and complies. He rises, shutting the door behind him and then, with seemingly little effort that belies strength in his frame, lifts up the bookcase to block the door.
"I assume that I will be illuminated soon"
If worst came to worse, he was now alone and Solork strongly suspected that he could kill the Twi'lek unarmed, if there were no guards involved.

When it was closed he beckoned Solork to sit again, "Now, son.. you set out on this goal of yours to repay a debt that you have incurred. One to a people who would not normally accept such a debt but steer you in a direction that I would steer you. Your efforts may do them an honor here and now, you need only look to the world around you."
"On Kamda alone, there are many who suffer. Many who just need a helping hand to get out from under a rock. You could be a part of that change, help these people and better their lives. From what I know of the people you seek, they would respect such a person."

Solork pauses, seeming to think on the words. "From what I remember of them, that does seem to be something like they would say. I have been trying to live up to helping that way. It's just that" Solork pauses "I wasn't the kind of being that they were. They were peaceful, but with a strength and resiliency in the face of dire odds. And I...I've done some things. Things I had never stopped to consider."
Solork stops cold. "I think that would be a way to honor them"

"That you can look back on your past and regret, means that you have grown. There is no shame in that, but now we have the present and the knowledge of what we might do to help those in the here and now. I can guide you where you might be able to help, in this way, there are a number of individuals who already heed my word in such a way. All of us follow the hope that together we will better the lives of those on Kamda, and perhaps.. eventually, beyond," he said.
