(Pregame) Look Down, Look Down...

[Tosath Nazora]

"I'm not very knowledgeable about the finer points of piracy. Wasn't really my choice to be there. They just had me patch them up when they got injured or sick and they got paid when they had me fix up other pirates when they docked. I just did what they told me to avoid getting a blaster bolt to the chest. Not really an ideal situation for me."

[Varina Ordo]

Varina shook her head. "Pirates are just cowards then. Yeah, take what you want, but be ready to fight! Why else have those weapons?"

[Roxi]

"Not all pirates are like that! Just lame-o's like the ones that kidnapped him. You should've gotten kidnapped by cooler pirates, that's all. Like the Revenants!"

[Tosath Nazora]

"I didn't really have a choice, and if I had it my choice would have been for no kidnapping," the doctor replies, chuckling at that.

[Jyrvess Ertil]

Jyvress blinked again, perplexed...then after a moment she laughed, "Well I suppose it was my good fortune to be shaken down by two honorable...warriors," The term seemed close enough at any rate. "Well I'm not really a pirate myself, nor have I been robbed by one..." She eyes Roxi, "Until now I suppose. But I've...well let's just say I have had to read up about piracy back in my former job....as a librarian."

This, this was a classic example of why she had been a desk worker and not a field one...Jyvress thought to herself.

[Varina Ordo]

"The way to not get kidnapped is to fight!" Varina nodded. "That's what I would have done."

She continued with a smile. "That's why I don't waste time reading books!"

[Roxi]

"There's books about pirates?" She turned to the former librarian, "What sort of stuff is in them? Anything good?"

[Jyrvess Ertil]

"Plenty," She shrugs, "Err storybooks for one. But a surprising number of studies on pirate activities in the Outer Rim and their economic impact were done too. The storybooks are...fun depending on what you are after. The studies are..." Dry. Boring. Filled with jargon. Citing ten other reports on the same thing. TEDIOUS. "not really that fun."

[Tosath Nazora]

"Fighting to save yourself is all well and good, but I spent 8 years in school learning to heal wounds, not make them. It's part of a doctors code of honor to do no harm. Just like a warrior might have a code of honor to fight with bravery."

[Varina Ordo]

"Doctors are weird," Varina said, "You can save everyone you care about if you just get rid of everyone else." She then tapped her chin. "I guess it's hard to know who you might care about though."

[Tosath Nazora]

"You can't save everyone just by beating other people. Illnesses and accidents happen all the time that aren't caused by enemies. And doctors care about everyone to a certain degree. Not everyone is my friend, but that doesn't mean I don't want them to be healthy and safe."

[Roxi]

"So, you know a lot about pirates though, then?" She asked Jyrvess, "Which ones are your favorite?"

[Jyrvess Ertil]

Jyvress blinked, "Well its not so much about pirate gangs as activities. And that is on a broader sense. I was born in the Core, not much piracy there. And out here I have just been trying to avoid running in to any."

"But I do know there was quite a lot written on them. That's kind of what I did, helped people find information on things they were interested in."

[Roxi]

"Oh," she said, "well that's dissappointing."

Apparently Jyrvess was not a fellow pirate fangirl.

"So, what's the Core like then?"

[Jyrvess Ertil]

"Depends on the planet really. My home of Corellia is an industrial center, though one long past its prime...barring out shipyards of course." She smiles, "We produced, and still do, the best ships in the galaxy. I remember watching the flow of traffic from a child when..." Jyvress's smile falters, "Well little matter, these days the Empire owns the shipyards and they just churn out warmachines."

"I spent most of my life on Coruscant, the whole planet is a city stretching down and down and down to the ancient surface." She chuckles, "They used to say if you fell from the top to the bottom you would die of old age before the fall killed you."

[Tosath Nazora]

"I spent several months on Coruscant when I was a much younger man. Didn't care for it. I don't trust any planet where I can't see mountains," Tosath chimes in. "I can't imagine what it looks like now. That was when my father was a part of the Arkanian delegation to the senate. I remember seeing The Emperor when he was a senator, at a state function that my father took me to. Never got to meet him though."

[Varina Ordo]

"Oh yeah. Sickness and accidents." Varina then looked over to the librarian lady. "Wouldn't gravity make someone fall too fast for that to make sense?"

It was a genuine question. Science?

[Jyrvess Ertil]

"Well yes...no one would fall that long, for a multitude of reasons." Jyvress had to chuckle at that, "It's just a tall tale to add a little interest. A lot more exciting and easier for someone to imagine then just saying 'its really far down and, assuming you don't hit any of the millions of obstructions and vehicles on the way, you will be falling for a long time.'"

"There are some Courscant natives who would say the same about being able to see mountains. You'd be surprised at how some of bureaucrats in the lower levels get nervous just having to walk out into the sun. Makes one think of someone who had been born on and never left a ship or station." Jyvress nodded, "If you want natural beauty though Chandrila is hard to beat, not even Alderaan is as ecologically minded as the Chandrilans. And everyone there seems absolutely thrilled at the idea of a debate. A dozen people with thirteen different political viewpoints between them."

[Roxi]

"Raxus Prime is... okay?" She offered.

A blatantly false statement to anyone who had heard of the planet. After all, just as the entire surface of Coruscant was covered by a city; the entire surface of Raxus Prime was a literal garbage dump.

[Tosath Nazora]

"Never seen Raxus Prime. Been to a good number of planets, but that just isn't one of them," he replies, shaking his head, ignorant of the planet. "But every planet's got it's own features. Even though I may not be a fan of Coruscant, it was fun to watch all the vehicles flying around constantly, and the huge variety of species that called it home. What it lacked in natural beauty it made up for in cultural diversity... back then."
