Wait. If I run out now leaving the guy behind they'll think I did something. Shit.

Leah resisted a sigh and turned back towards the stairs, looking up.

Leah looked around, trying to see what she felt.

Is that guy following me?

She took another calming breath. It was terrifying, but she couldn't just leave. Could she? Taking a few more steps to the door, she peeked out to see what the other guard was doing.

Outside the other guard was leaning back against a post, another pair of two just passed him and continued walking the perimeter, but he stayed put and seemed to be considering the possibilities of what was going on here.
