The hunt was on. Thermal cloak on, scanner goggles in place. The Karkarodon was at the edge of where they last encountered the beast.
"Are you all ready?"

Jyrvess was there, looking completely out of place in her street clothes. "This is the strangest thing I have been asked to do."

"Really?" Raven chuckled as she checked her gear and that her cloak was sufficiently fastened to cover her armor and not get caught in anything.
"Never gone hunting before?"

"I grew up the daughter of General in the Core Worlds who then spent her working life in a big library trying to make sense of the ramblings people like you would bring me." Jyrvess's expression was suspiciously solemn like someone trying to look way more serious than she was, "Hunting is hard on Courscant."

"Then it's good we got you out of the city!" He clapped the woman on the shoulder, as the goggles scanned and zoomed, looking for tracks.
"This creature is majestic. It'll change your life Jyrvess."

"... But surely even Coruscant must have places to go hunting, right?" Raven asked as someone who hadn't visited the city-planet. "Forests? Swamps? Plains or deserts?"

Jyrvess was legitimately dumb struck, then remembered Raven hadn't had the easiest of childhoods.
"Courscant is entirely a city, kilometers deep. The only green are parks and gardens. Across the whole planet." Her voice is gentle and patient.

"Oh."
It was amazing how someone so covered up still managed to look embarrassed. "I... just thought that talk was exagerration." She cleared her throat to get rid of some of the awkwardness.
"Not having any wilderness sounds is so... weird. I thought only the Hutts wanted to live like that, like on Nar Shaddaa but that's like... the armpit of the galaxy."

"Courscant is very old, very very old. It just sort of...well grew into a city. And it's considerably bigger than the Hutt's moon sized casino." She chuckled then her smile grew sad, "It was a nice place before the Emperor made it his capital. The grandeur of the Jedi Temple replaced with the cruel face of the Palace."

"It was a city teeming with life. The Temple was sacred." He added on to Jryvess' thoughts. "It had it's own armpit though. Level 1313 among others."
He had only visited there once, on a relief mission as a youngling.
How it could exist at the heart of the galaxy he could never understand.

"Oh, I know Coruscant has old history. The ancient Mandalorians originated there. The Taung. But that's... thousands and thousands of years ago." Back then it had not been a city-planet, and the nomadic warrior culture of the Taung lived on still today even if the species was long gone.
"You're gonna have to tell me more later... and of this Level 1313 too."

Jyrvess stopped and looked out over distance, "I remember the day the Temple burned. I was standing in a visitor observation platform." She shook her head, "I felt sick that day and more the day after when everyone just accepted we had killed the Jedi."
"I should have left then... should have thrown my badge into the face of my supervisor when he told me it was in response to a coup. I was a coward."

"They're not all dead." He replied flatly, giving the librarian a look, before drawing the spear-blaster. "The flame might be dying, but there are still embers of hope." He began to move down the dune.
"Let's walk and talk."

"My father served alongside the Jedi, he often commended their bravery." She began to walk again, "Though something always bothered him about them. I assume he didn't like peacekeepers inserting themselves into his domain. He never commented on the 'coup' but I could tell he found it dubious. Even as he stayed on in the Imperial Army."

Raven listened as she stayed aware of their surroundings. A lot of it had happened when she was young and... other things were happening in her life.
"The Jedi at least tried to respect the Mandalorians and help the government on Mandalore..." sure, it had been the New Mandalorians but her family hadn't shunned that movement. "Cant say the same for the Empire."

Finding the original dune was an easy task, the pit from the fight had been crafted well enough to survive quite a few storms they could still see the imprint of it at the top of the sand. However, that was where the pit's likeness stopped. For the first leg of their journey they would need a lot of luck, or a lot of skill, to determine where best to search for the beast..
Survival at Hard, three setback for desert, usual setback for heat.
Or.. pick a direction

The Karkarodon crouched, looking at the desert dunes. His goggles scanned and looked over the wind blasted sands, as the heat poured down on them. Luckily the cloaks easily kept the heat at bay. But deserts shifted. It all looked the same for kilometers at a time.
"This way..." he pointed, when he found something faint, and began to stalk after the great beast.

Assuming that Tranq had found something, Raven nodded wordlessly and unslinged her carbine as she began to follow the Karkarodon seeker, readying herself for potential ambushes.
