[LA5] - Beach Shark [Dalkirk Ocean Beach - Expecting]

[Tranq Sayzin]

"I was." He nodded, saddens taking hold in his voice. "Barely out of childhood, and I was on the front lines. Mainly on Dac." Tranq continued, turning to look to her. "Every side had heroes, they said. To me, every side was a villain. Who sends children into battle..."

[Leah kuso]

"You fought on the front lines as a child? That's awful! Who would make children do such things?" Leah wrapped an arm around the mans shoulders "I'm so sorry that you had to suffer like that. I had a pretty awful childhood but at least I wasn't in a war."

[Tranq Sayzin]

He didn't say anything for a moment, finding himself rather entranced by her arms around his broad shoulders and back. Then he sighed. "The Republic. More specifically... the Jedi." He kept his eyes focused on hers. "That's who sent children to the front lines."

[Leah kuso]

He would see shock in her eyes, for the briefest moment.

"The Jedi..sent children to fight. I can't...but why? Why would they do that?" Her voice had gone very quiet, almost whispering

[Tranq Sayzin]

"Because we were trained to be Jedi. I was barely out of being a Youngling. Had just been selected as a Padawan by my Master. The War started, and the Republic needed Generals and Commanders for their grand new army of clones." He pursed his mouth, a thin, tense line. "The Republic decided the Jedi were the best source for those."

[Leah kuso]

"I see" Leah said, a small nod "so..you're a Jedi too, Tranq?"

[Tranq Sayzin]

"Was. I was only a Padawan. I never got to my trials to he knighted." He nodded, speaking quietly.

Then it hit him.

"Wait. Too? What do you mean?"

[Leah kuso]

"There's...another Jedi. Up on the moon, but I think she's in hiding" Leah explained softly "there was also...I have to warn you. There was a guy in a mask, with a glowing red sword, setting traps for Jedi to try and catch them. I got caught in it because I heard about a Jedi, and he thought I was the Jedi. He let me go though...but I don't think he'd do the same for you."

[Tranq Sayzin]

"Glowing. Red. Sword." His voice dropped, eyes focusing on hers. "And on the moon." Committing the story to memory. He would have to head up sometime. He wanted to ask more questions, wanted to delve deeper.

But he also didn't want to spoil the afternoon. He was finding he liked her presence, being near her, like this.

"Thanks for the warning, Leah." Tranq's voice remained low, a hint of a smile. "I'm sorry that I brought the date down with all my seriousness." The Karkarodon chuckled slightly.

[Leah kuso]

"The glowing red sword wasn't on the moon, it was in the slums" Leah quickly clarified "and um...don't worry. Like, everyone has a past right? I just didn't want you to get hurt or be unaware that there's a really dangerous man around. I care about you, and I'd hate for you to get attacked because some masked weirdo has a grudge against you."

[Tranq Sayzin]

Her saying she cared about him caught him off guard. He wasn't prepared for it, and having eschewed attachments for so long...

This was new.

"I... thank you. For the warning. I..." he searched for the words for a moment. "I care about you, too."

[Leah kuso]

Leah smiled, although she decided he needed a distraction...perfect!

He was so focused she could move her other hand and....splash.

She splashed him, then stuck her tongue at him. Trying to lighten the mood.
