A Most Dangerous Game [Day 5, MM]
Re: A Most Dangerous Game [Day 5, MM]
Raven scanned the ground in front of her for traps, finding one. A wire that connected to a little bell. When she glanced back up, however, the shadow of the Saxon was gone from view. Perhaps he moved to the other side of the fire?

Fuuuu... she tensed now that she had lost track of him, hand reaching for the handle of her sword.
Very carefully, her long legs stepped over the wire, as she tried to glean the location of the prey.

Dredgen was ready to support her from the other side, but the way forward was in a bottle neck that brought them right through the illuminated area. Chances were, even if she tried to sneak through, she would be spotted. As far as they could tell, from the sound of the fire inside and the general layout the room was small and there was no chance of escape.

Re: A Most Dangerous Game [Day 5, MM]
Raven silently indicated the wire with a gesture of her hand to Dredgen, just in case it had nastier surprises than a bell, and with a calm motion drew her sword. This would be it.
For a brief moment she wished she had any of those explosives Lysa used against those Hutt-goons, but it was probably for the best to not start any explosions in here.
Steadying her breath, she advanced forward, into the illuminated area, ready for a fight!

Raven, stepping out of the cave and into the small outcrop stood with her blade drawn. Across from her, a Saxon, his helmet down by the fire, the majority of his weapons between them.
For a moment there was only silence as they looked to one another.
Somewhere in his mid-twenties the Hunter stood, holding his pack as he was about to return to the fire. Watching her in the silence, "Come to kill me then?"

The grip on her sword shifted in her hand, adjusting to the cramped surroundings she'd be fighting in.
"As you killed one of ours, and would likely try to kill more of us too," her voice was hard, even more so through the helmet. "But that ends now."

Re: A Most Dangerous Game [Day 5, MM]
Dredgen approached from behind, his rifle at ease across in front of his stomach. Standing behind Raven.
"Not.. quite.. yet.." the Saxon hunter said, glancing between her and his weapon. Thinking.. thinking.. dropping into an even tone, "I acknowledge the righteousness of your Mandalore, Gar Saxon is a traitor to the Mando'ade and your Mandalore speaks the truth to the culture of our people. I also now challenge him on the grounds that he is the strongest among us."

She grimaced, which was given away by the way her hand tightened around the hilt of her sword.
"You... think that bantha poodoo is enough to save your hide after you've killed one of ours? Nearly killed a foundling as well?" The faint tremble in her voice made her sound a little unsure.

"I do," he said, resolving himself. Standing firm.
Dredgen, however, was just about blowing his top, "YOU CUR, I WILL CUT THOSE WORDS FROM YOUR MOUTH!" and just about pushing passed Raven.

Re: A Most Dangerous Game [Day 5, MM]
The moment didn't exactly give her time to think it over. And she really felt little sympathy for this guy who could've gone about this quite differently.
She didn't stop Dredgen from moving forward, and the few seconds was enough to make up her mind.
"Only death awaits you." She spoke as she pointed her sword at the Saxon.

Re: A Most Dangerous Game [Day 5, MM]
Dredgen nearly had his hand around the mans throat when he was stopped by the word, "Fine," he sneered, "will you grant me my blade.. or kill me like a dog?" he said, looking to his gear which was now behind Dredgen and in front of Raven.

Re: A Most Dangerous Game [Day 5, MM]
Part of her just wished for him to die already, but... she had sworn to herself to be better than that. Dredgen would probably not agree, but...
"We're better than you are." She looked from the Saxon to Dredgen. "Let him die with honor... what little he has left."

Re: A Most Dangerous Game [Day 5, MM]
With his hand still flexing, pulsing, Dredgen reluctantly let it down and walked back, by Raven, "Kill him well, Sister," he said, stepping back out to the mouth of the small cave area. Pulling his blaster up in front of him and menacingly adjusting the rifle from behind.
The Hunter, for his part, went and collected his sword and helmet.
Placing the helmet over his head he obscured all vision of the man underneath the suit, "Now.. let us finish what we started in the forest.."
Please post combat stats, and roll Cool for Init.

Re: A Most Dangerous Game [Day 5, MM]
Dredgen was given an affirmative nod as he passed her by. Perhaps the two of them were finding some common understanding? One could hope.
Raven took a deep breath and exhaled slowly. A one-on-one duel required more focus than blind rage. "What is the name of the man I'm about to face?" she asked, assuming her stance with both hands on the hilt of her sword.

Re: A Most Dangerous Game [Day 5, MM]
"Raven Cadera will be your opponent, and you will not win this day. Or ever. The Manda rejects you."
Raven's speed aged out against her opponent's, driven by the insult to Mandalore and the obvious lack of honor from her opponent. Her wild swing didn't strike him, but the power behind it knocked his sword from his hands.

Rushing in with his blade, Raven and the Hunter clash blade against blade. In a quick flash she takes the opportunity to knock his blade from his hand but in a flourish he recovers it before it falls to the ground. Striking true in the spin he offers up some potential for his enemy.
The Hunter grabs his weapon.
The Hunter attacks dealing 8 damage with pierce 2.
1 Threat for player to decide.
Adversary 1, Melee Defense 2.
Mandalorian Duel: 3eP+1eA+1eC+1eD+2eS 2 successes, 1 threat

Re: A Most Dangerous Game [Day 5, MM]
That his speed matched hers caught her by surprise, but she released one hand from the hilt of her sword to dampen his attack somewhat with a closed fist jammed to his elbow (1 Strain inflicted), thanks to his opening, though she still felt the vibroblade cut through the weak spots in her armor. First blood had gone to him.
Her counterstrike scraped off his armor, but pushed him back enough to give her a chance to glean from her surroundings. She had given him a fighting chance at dying, but she wasn't above finding some dirty tricks to use to her advantage...

During the conflict, she gets herself some space and see's his footing dangerous close to the fire. If she could just knock him over...
While she thought The Hunter pressed his advantage and made a devastating blow. "You lost your nerve?" he said, the glee evident in his voice as he pressed his attack.

(GM Destiny Spent Here)
Hunter attacks dealing 9 damage before Soak with pierce 2.
Adversary 1, Melee defense 2 on the Hunter.

Re: A Most Dangerous Game [Day 5, MM]
Raven grunted, feeling the pain of the strike. Not the worst she had survived, but it hurt like a motherkriffer. As he continued to press the attack, she saw her opening to put some of Praxton's lessons to use. The Saxon's overconfidence made him unbalance in his footwork and as she stepped into his range again, Raven bodyslammed into him as she planted one foot behind his, causing him to trip into the fire.
Without wasting any time, she followed up with a powerful slash of her own. "Just die already!"
