Sat at his station Sev listened on to radio chatter. All across Kamda it seemed like the Imperials were abuzz with activity. Hitting Nerra's establishment, Korso's, "They're pretty desperate after today.." he calmed his hand from it's shaking before he grabbed his cup of Kaff only to find it empty. "Oh darn.." he said, putting the cup down. Removing the headset he stood and walked over to the Kaff machine, pouring himself another cup.
"You know ol' Sev," he said, a light smile on his face, "I think for once in your life you did something to help other than just sit around and listen, and it's got you all excited and scared and jittery... or maybe it's just the Kaff," he laughed to himself when he heard a noise at the door. Peeking his head around the corner he looked at it but there was nothing.
"That's.. strange.." he said, turning on one of the small lamps inside the room. Nursing the Kaff in his hand as he walked up to the door. "Probably just my imagination getting the better of me, right?" he said to himself as he looked to the door. Walking up to it he put his eye up against the little window to view guests before opening and saw the storm-trooper right as the battering ram hit the door and split it's frame.
Falling backwards, "Ah KRIFF, Kriff, kriff, kriff," he said, scalding hot Kaff all over him. Pulling himself up he made a break for the back room but stopped halfway. Seeing the window, the exit, a chance, he looked back at the desk was their communications network. Sensitive data. Then, the grenade on the wall fixture.
Shaking his hand with anxiety he yelled, "Damnit damnit damnit," he said, grabbing the grenade. Rushing, hoping he had enough time. Running back toward the station he activated it and gave it a short toss toward the setup as the blaster bolt hit him square in the gut. Sev had turned around toward the window when his vision went blurry and he stumbled forward. His knees hurt and then he realized he'd fallen to them. Putting his hand on his stomach he looked at the blood, "Oh no.. no no no.. no.. please.." his vision got worse, it lost focus, and then he'd lost it before he slumped forward.
Behind him the explosive detonated, destroying the station and knocking back one of the troopers. The window was only five feet away.
